Wouldn't it be nice if the show was ONLY about the extraordinary skills of the craftsmen and women. Instead some suit has decided that it has to be "emotional" and we end with yet another excellent show dumbed down into the soap opera / reality TV gutter.

I was just telling a friend about how reserved they are during the reveal. Their gratitude and emotion are quite genuine, but American’s would be screaming, sobbing, jumping over the table to hug them. A real mess.

@@Yvo19 It's amazing how racist and intolerant and biased the AbFab prima donnas are. I love every bit of dialogue! I recently saw the Christmas Special in which Patsy EATS something (for the third time, I read) and I ended up on the floor again. I haven't seen all episodes, but Wikipedia's "List of Absolutely Fabulous characters" was of great help. An extensive Who's Who In Absolutely Fabulous Land"! I'm a great fan of Keeping Up Appearances too, but AbFab easily wins in all categories. The brilliance is that all scenes seem totally improvised (which they are not). The whole French/Saunders world is brilliant.

Saunders started my long love affair with British comedy. Thanks to AbFab, and then to back track and find French and so much more! I mean, like python now. But there were a couple dudes in my rocky horror cast, constantly quoted python and ruined them for me for a while. Anywho, any good Halloween party I've ever attended has had a set of Ed & Pats there!

@@go-godollie2335 Keeping Up Appearances is the next best thing in British comedy. With Hyacinth, actress Patricia Routledge created an absolutely unique, hilarious character. And the rest of the cast performed brilliant too. Thank heavens for UKposts! My forever fear is that the greedy amusement industry decides - insists - on a Remake... It would be a CRIME!

Here in The Netherlands we also don't have the Repairshop or other British programs, but you can find a lot of great comedy on UKposts. Use searchwords like: Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders, Judy Dench, 'Absolutely Fabulous' is also a great show, with Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders. AbFab is hilarious. Enjoy :-)

So the bald guy normal has two pairs of glasses on his head, because he works with the small jewellery and watches. At the start when she pretends to cry too early is because so many people come on this show and blub. Apparently everyone loves jayblades 😂. They normally show shots of people being skilled craftsman, not ripping up clothing or being on their laptop.

The Repair Shop IS on in the US, on the BBC America channel.

It's why we need people like French and Saunders to give us a laugh and their brilliant, funny characterisations.
