The Werkself have broken the long-standing dominance of FC Bayern München by claiming the first league title in the club's history.
Coach Xabi Alonso has succeeded where many others before him failed. Leverkusen have always had the potential in recent history but it's never been exploited like it has this season, with a perfect combination of artists like Florian Wirtz, experienced prios like Granit Xhaka and top signings such as Alejandro Grimaldo and Victor Boniface.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Bayer always fell short in the title races - often in painful fashion. The nickname ""Neverkusen"" was born - but now it can finally be put to rest. What do you think? Can Leverkusen continue to be title contenders in the coming years?
