This better than the NBA. I see a bunch of players giving max effort on “both”sides of the court. This is real b-ball. Real defense being played. No easy shots, most everything contested, not many uncontested runs to the cup like we been seeing for 10 years in the NBA. I think found my b-ball fix again. Great game ladies.

How Iowa turned things around in the third quarter with zero turnovers was absolutely key to their win.

Edwards was literally moving throughout that part. She took another step because Marshall was out of her normal screen's reach and you can see her right leg and left knee both leaning to her left towards Marshall. I think she even dragged or slid her right foot a bit? Well the point is that it was clearly an illegal moving screen (do not press pause button during slow motion replay cuz it will really look like she did not move lol 😂). Adding to that was her slightly raised and reached out elbow that gave a little push to the incoming Marshall. Edwards ran into Marshall not the other way around. Given the difference in physical build, the effect of the slight collision to the smaller and lighter Marshall was quite normal. It was not a bad call, just a wrong timing one for a lot of people because many viewers want to witness an exhilarating, wild and fantastic finish on that great stage. Stop blaming and hating just for the sake of having something to say. It's not like the call happened out of nowhere without any basis. It was arguable but still acceptable. Take in the result and move on. We have one more great game coming up next. Well if Iowa wants to prove they deserved that victory then all they have to do is convincingly win over UNDEFEATED SC in the finals. 👋✌👍🤔😇

Don’t particularly care who wins but as a coach and former player, it Is good to see that call made. You cannot step into the player to set a screen. Kudos to the ref for making the call.

As an Iowa fan, last night when watching this even I thought oh I don’t know about that call. Watching it back here I feel much better that it was definitely a foul.

Edwards wasn't "barely" leaning, she threw her shoulders into marshal. If you watch closely, her left foot wasn't even established when she made contact.

Bueckers said it best. She knows that when you are playing an equal or favored team, you need to put the game away so officials can't influence things. The official's call was solid. Iowa obviously earned that call over the course of the 4th quarter.

The women's final four this year was some the best basketball, men or women, college or professional, that I've seen in sometime.

Obvious moving screen just like @5:25 when Bueckers air-balled the wide open 3 that would have got them back in the game. Uconn had every opportunity including boxing out on the FT but didn't do it. Look at 13:19, they just moved to the hoop without putting a body on anyone. Don't want that call made? Stand still and set a normal screen.

Caitlin Clark deserves the second Naismith Award, '23-'24! Also, CC deserves the '22-'23 James E Sullivan Award making CC the only repeat winner of the JES AWARDS in it's 94-yr history. CC is really the GOAT of collegiate women's basketball.

Very good offensive call. I’m a huge gamecocks fan so this game was pretty important to me but I didn’t have a huge opinion on who I wanted to win. The refs have AMAZING eyesight to notice how Edward’s sticks out her elbow a bit, leaning forwards/sideways a bit, purposely. The refs were not “wanting Iowa to win” they just knew it was a close game and had to make the right calls.

In real time speed #3 totally steps into the screen (illegal screen)… its a good call. The question though was whether or not the call should have been made or let the game play out??? That call would have been made during any other time in the game. 🤷‍♀️

Watching the foul in slow motion it was clearly a foul. Had her eye on Marshall the whole way, tried looking slightly away while throwing shoulder in opposite direction. Nice try but a foul.

How UCONN was able to perform with no depth off the bench is a huge nod to Geno and staff. Tough loss.

Great performance in those final minutes. These two teams were not at the peak all game, but it was smooth in the clutch.

Everyone go look at the above view of the offensive foul at the end, it was the right call. Her body was sliding, left elbow was out, extremely wide base and flared left knee to become even wider. It was the right call and it's the players fault for making it that freaking obvious to the ref.

In the final seconds of this game Iowa played chess and UConn was playing checkers. Iowa looked poised and patient and UConn looked dazed and confused. That was the difference!

I know that’s a controversial call, but it was clear as day that she was setting a moving screen which is an offensive foul. 10:31 Just watch how she moves or slides laterally and basically shoved Marshall. If you wanna set a screen like that, you have to be discreet. Just watch the Warriors lol. They be setting moving screens all the time and gets away with it because they do it lowkey. What she should have done is to plant that right foot and set the screen. She could move her upper body and her left foot to block Marshall but her right foot MUST be anchored. Most of the time, defense in basketball is also about the footwork. Setting the screen and taking a charge could be a defensive or offensive foul depending on whether you slid that foot a couple of inches or keeping that pivot anchored.

Sorry but Marshal #24 is the best thing to ever happen to womens basketball ever Edit; it has nothing to do with that foul.

It was a good call. She wasn't set and and she moved into the Iowa player and shoved her. You think it's the refs calling it, but imagine if Uconn had scored on that pick we'd be saying the same thing the other way.

Women's college basketball in the last few years has taken monster steps forward in competitiveness. Not that long ago we would end up with four one seeds in the final four. The final will really be interesting. Will S Carolina do a UCONN and finish undefeated? Will Iowa finally finish a championship run?
