SpaceX is set to launch the Starship SN11 prototype to an altitude of approximately 10 kilometers. A launch attempt is possible in the morning local time on Tuesday. However, as with testing, there is always a chance that teams could decide to stand down and try again on a different day.

Until they start the landing burn higher up to give time to deal with problems they will continue to lose the ships. Once they get that sorted then try for lower burns. It seems they dont mind blowing up all their ships though? To those who say there isnt enough fuel for higher burns then i say just go up to 9km and use THAT saved fuel for the higher burn. Before they even started to launch ships they needed to get one on a giant static gimbal to TEST the ship launching then going horizontal then vertical again to work out the kinks of multi directional stresses on the engines and tanks.

@@phoenixrising4573 I sure do though. And space X can crash all the ships they want but to my logical mind learning to walk before running is a better approach. Something about the starship vectoring vertical to horizontal back to vertical again upsets the engines and fuel tanks to where they fail repeatedly. These problems could have been sorted on a static test fire rig before several hugely expensive full starships were launched. But seeing as they are using your suicide burn from the off and it’s failing every time maybe another approach is needed because the starship carcasses are mounting up. When they succeed I will be first to congratulate them but until then why are my suggestions so far out you feel the need to attack them?

"Fog had no effect on the crash" No, but it does help when you can see WTF exploded and get good visual references. May as well shut your eyes and throw it up in the air and say "dont worry, if it blows up we have computer data". Riiiiiight.

I recommend that you DO NOT use VLC for frame-by-frame work. It bites at skipping back/forward and frame-by-frame and this has been true for years. Felix is *awesome* and I mean no criticism of his superb work on this free software; positioning is simply not it's strong suit. I use MPV for tasks where I need to skip or do frame-by-frame with keyboard shortcuts.

Space X made a conscience decision to test and I can't image why they launched in the heavy fog. I assume you would want to have many camera angles looking at the ascent and decent and obviously the fog would not let you get that type of data. The cameras will let you see if there are anomalies happening to the physical vehicle or give data that some sensors may not pick up. Shuttle, commercial SpaceX and other rocket launches have cameras recording flight to see if anything interferes with the vehicle functions they can catch. More data especially for this kind of test.

Does anyone know if any of the tanks in the tank farm were damaged by the flying debris? Looks like it exploded in the air.

You would think that they would do it on a clear day until they got this thing figured out for real. Maybe hurry up and get the sea launch platform ready so the shrapnel doesn't land in the construction zone.

I don't think the camera was hit. I think that something crashed very nearby and shook the ground the camera was standing on.
