It's called a polydactyl. I have one, and yes, she has thumbs. From what I've seen, it's more common in bigger cats (large males or bigger cat breeds, my girl is a Maine Coone/Turkish Angora mix), or in more extreme cases, a severely inbred cat.

Uhhh nope, he has his paws blocking the closing of the frig and demanding you not close it. IMO that should be an outdoor cat since he obviously doesn't understand that he has no say since he doesn't pay the bills nor bring any groceries into the home. :)

They needlessly kill many species of wildlife & have helped to endanger (& possibly exterminate, according to some research) quite a few of them. They also catch parasites & diseases this way, from fleas & worms to Rabies. They're at risk from stray dogs, vehicles (often running in front of instead of away from them when they panic-bolt), bad weather, predators like coyotes & raccoons, and worst of all... teenage boys 🙀😾🙀
