To celebrate, I have decided to remake a classic video by JstAnothrVirtuoso.
This montage features world record runs from Trackmania ESWC, Trackmania Nations Forever, Trackmania United (& United Forever) as well as Trackmania² Stadium. I conducted an anonymous survey amongst FWO members in order to obtain a ranking. This is the result of an idea 4 months in the making. Enjoy!

Do you agree with the ranking? ;) FAQ: Q: Why is Trackmania 2020 not included? A: Maps are hunted for a much shorter period of time due to seasonal rotations, therefore any shortcut world record is by default less prestigious. I've made two videos in the past about this topic. Q: Where is XYZ? Why isn't it in the video? A: Check the description for the full ranking spreadsheet. Q: Why did you speed up the runs? A: I didn't want the video to be excessively long and I tried to shorten it by only showing the shortcuts in real time. For the top 10 I made an exception and entire runs are shown. Q: What's up with the audio levels? A: The software difficulties I experienced (check "Stats for nerds" at the end of the video) made me so tired and frustrated that I forgot to level all songs.

The thing about 2020 shortcuts doesn't make much sense to me, why label a video "Best shortcuts" when you're not including a game due to the runs not being "less prestigious". Being good and being prestigious are seperate things.

@@Fliksu But a shortcut being good has no relation to how much hunting it took. Plus a lot of older runs were at a time when community skill was lower overall, or certain shortcuts only becoming a thing more recently so the comparison isnt really there. Plus people do still hunt older 2020 maps so its not like every map is only getting three months of play. Its a good video I just disagree with the noninclusion of 2020 records for a reason i dont think is very good.

a bit late to the party but great video man! I feel very honoured to make the top 3, in fact it's javs old top 50 video that inspired me to pick up nadeo tracks, so to now have multiple runs included is quite crazy to me. Keep up the good work :)

Incredible video, a lot of things have changed since JaV's video, and me having stopped TM for a year and a half didn't help either. I almost forgot Rollin's legendary D07 WR 😭 Also RIP Hefest's C14 and Edge's Platform D4, but that underlines how impressive these new WRs are, being able to beat such masterpieces. I'm still in shock about the amount of overwalls in E02.

A lot of them _can_ race the normal way and do it well, but if a trick exists to get a faster time, they _will_ use it. It takes incredible skill and patience to do these cuts. I'm not surprised that D07-Race snagged the top spot. The trick that Rollin uses to get the finish from the "wrong" side was long thought impossible, and Rollin is still the only person to have ever done that cut. It's been over three years since Rollin got that record, and no one has ever replicated it.

I think what I needed to realise watching this video is that these are FWO members ranking them, not community. I think the rankings would've looked a lot different, but we also need to admit that these rankings are way more indicative of the difficulty of these runs, since they're judged by experts in the craft. In terms of flashiness and wow factor, I can't agree with the list as a viewer, but I fully respect all of these players and their opinions (except the one guy who skewed the rankings filling in 10s everywhere wtf). There's also the part where you specifically chose to include WR cuts, which I completely understand to keep the boundaries of the video safe, but then there's the Platform D4 bugslide>pillar cut (done by Edge: ukposts.info/have/v-deo/hZ-FoGlriIuG0as.html) which in my eyes would be on the number 1 spot in wow-factor (rated as a viewer) but wasn't included because of the criteria rules. I'd say this isn't a perfect video, but I absolutely adore it nonetheless, great work!

@@Fliksu "WOW" factor is just how flashy it is. Some of these are, while sometimes absolutely the most intensive (like number 1 spot), not exactly flashy because the tricks are a lot more subtle and hard to notice for the average viewer.

Great video, i thoroughly enjoyed it. I just want to say i dont like too much how you displayed how long the record was held. for example "WR for 1275+ days". just say something like "2nd Sept 2020 - present (1275 days)". Or something. because just the number is outdated instantly the day after you post it, whereas the date that the record was set is more informative.

It isn't outdated, the "+" means it has been the WR ever since the date. If I were to put a calendar date like "12.04.2020" then it's harder to grasp than the amount of days imo. These world records won't be improved any time soon, so it works. Thanks! :D

"weird codec issues only one person ever on the internet has ever experienced: 3" thought i'd save everyone else the time it took me to find out how to remove the overlay that's blocking it. anyway, not taking the difficulty of the cut and the thousands of hours it took into account, #2 looks so much more spectacular than #1.

Googling doesn't hurt "In statistics, the standard deviation is a measure of the amount of variation of a random variable expected about its mean.[1] A low standard deviation indicates that the values tend to be close to the mean (also called the expected value) of the set, while a high standard deviation indicates that the values are spread out over a wider range."

square root of ( the average ( distance between (each vote ,and the average))) in a continuous scale and large sample, ~68% of the votes are in [average - standard deviation, average + standard dev] as exemple, the 39 : 6.6 average, 1.73 standard dev : you can consider that 2/3 of the voter gave a score between 4.87 and 8.33
