The televote might have been enough on its own, but most of the countries voting in this semi didn't join the contest until the 90s at least, so a lot of the charm of this would have been lost on them sadly.

They have built quite the following since Eurovision. Their album debut at no1 in Denmark which is a big deal over there. Their winner in 2013 is a 1 hit wonder yet these guys are doing really well so it goes to show how well they could have done in the grand final

And I personally preferred France to Italy this year, but that doesn't matter. This is a matter of principle. Il Volo, Sergey and Keiino were screwed of their deserved wins earlier, and Fyr Og Flamme deserved a finals place this year.

As a Dane who’s very proud of these guys, I would just like to say. Thank you! 🙏🏻🇩🇰 I actually thought we might have a chance because our song was different, cheerful and just down to earth. But guess I’m gonna have to hope for Iceland to win now my country’s out😅🇮🇸

I’m Danish and I was so ashamed that I didn’t even watch Eurovision this year. He is a comedian, not a singer and they are singing about having sex together just to practice. I don’t think they even expected to make it to Eurovision, it was kind of Denmark DOGE coin this year, the GENz’es loved them and that’s why it won in Denmark. I didn’t expect it to make to the finals, let’s hope for a better year next year.

Professional teachers and professors or regular people? Likewise, the juries are composed of people *working in music and with years of experience* - all of which vote independently from each other. Who do you believe understand what's a good composition and performance - those professionals working in music or the tone deaf audience tuning in to the ESC every year? 90% of the votes come from teens anyway. As for your comment. Look up something called "confirmation bias" - that's what you're using now.

Surely you can agree that sometimes we want to measure what the people want? Or do you also prefer countries to abolish democracy and be run by expert rule instead? What is the point of selecting for songs that a few experts like? The point of songs and entertainment in general is exactly to give good feelings to *all* *people* , not just a few experts. Now, some people will feel more strongly about the songs than others, and each person can only vote once per song, and the people in smaller countries have more voting power, etc., so the televote does not perfectly capture the underlying popularity of a song, but clearly it does that much better than the jury vote.

Definitely! While Moldova and Greece did not deserve the final. Greece couldn't hit the notes so many times throughout the song and Moldova was relying heavily on her backing singers.

I think we might have lost some votes to the fact that Sweden and Norway were in the other semifinal, thus not watching this one. Almost all the balkan countries were in this one, of course voting for each other
