Vector is a 2012 platform game for Windows and Mobile developed and published by Cyprus-based studio Nekki. It is an arcade-styled parkour game with the objective being to break free from the cycle as a free runner.
In Vector, players take the role of a silhouette who is constantly being pursued by another silhouette, seemingly some form of enforcer for the system the player character breaks out of. The game does not have a long story apart from the introduction video which reveals that a player character is a man in an Orwellian dystopia, no longer able to bend to the will of his masters. He casts aside his mind-control device and his shirt, and leaps from his skyscraper prison, sprinting across rooftops toward the distant horizon.

I'm not sure it's motion capture. The devs have their own animation software (with a recent public release named cascadeur) that also lets the animators simulate physics in their animations so they look more natural. It's really good stuff

I think that's the plot that he's the only one who couldn't be kept in control cuz unlike others he was strong and had the will to live free and fearlessly as he did parkour earlier but got trapped into this until he broke free. Anime vibes

Spoilers! At the first third of the game, it's very simple tricks and moves to simply speed up his movements with maximum urgency, hence the simplicity. In the second act, in a versatile and an environment like the construction site, he immerses in the parkour as it's necessary to traverse an environment like that. Finally in the third and final act in the rooftop gardens, you can see him pull out all of these tricks and show some confidence as well as some playful cockiness in his parkour moves, hence the insane unnecessary flair filled movements, which is what gets him caught in the end, since the guards caught up and cornered him in the end due to him messing around.

Honestly if I was chasing someone that did that, even tho I’m unskilled I’d turn on some sort of skill switch inside of me and do the absolute maximum I can do (without flips but I can at least mount and jump off stuff 😂) to try to catch them. I’d use up all my stamina. That stuff is just fun and competitive energy to me

When I was a teenager I was drunk at a house party and the cops showed up and a cop and a dog chased me (out of the 100 ppl there 🙄🤣) when I saw them coming at me I ran and immediately jumped over a 8 foot(ish) fence. When I jumped over that fence I inadvertently did a full handstand on top of the fence into a flip. I still don’t know why I did that move cause I don’t do free running or any gymnastics and have never practiced that shit but, even the dog stopped chasing me after that. Also, I’m 6’5. That’s not really important but, my tall ass doing flips over 8 foot fences is hilarious to me. I’ll never forget that 🤣🤣

The character in the game is exceptional and super skilled so the " unrealistic" stuff may be realistic (only for him) and makes sense,they spent like ages to capture him and when they did they made clones of him to test his skills

Bro vector was crazy underrated when it first came out, I legit replayed the game so many times and never really got tired of it, or maybe that was just bc I was insanely interested in parkour… when vector 2 came out I was sort of disappointed since it wasn’t nearly as good as the first, but I def recommend it to anyone who hasn’t played it
