When cutting scions, should make sure that they are previous years growth and should contain at least 2 fruit buds. Depending on growing zone, can begin the rooting process a couple of weeks prior to the actual beginning of the growing season ( if using a plastic container, with 1-2 inches of water in it, be sure there is a small hole in the lid for "respiration" )if using "soil" and hormone dipping, be sure that buds are pointing upward and for best results cover with a plastic bag...both ways should avoid direct sunlight and drying out !
