Bale didn't help himself - after he scored that goal in the CL final he should have just been positive. Instead he used the moment to say he was unhappy not playing. The Wales flag was also a stupid stunt. However, yes the Spanish media is total trash and the Madrid fans were very unfair to him. He gave them some of the greatest moments in their clubs history and for this he deserves respect. He scored more goals than R9 and also won more champion leagues that Zidane so he's done enough to at least be respected.
