День томуThe death toll from a Russian airstrike on Chernihiv has risen to 18, officials said on April 18. Another 78 were wounded when three missiles slammed into the northern city's centre. The April 17 attack, which damaged civilian infrastructure in the northern city, was Russia's deadliest airstrike in weeks.
The attack sparked calls from top officials, including president Volodymyr Zelensky, for additional air defence support.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba, at the G7 Foreign Ministers meeting in Italy. The two diplomats urged the US House of Representatives to approve military aid to Ukraine.

Even funnier is how Ukraine used it first along with banned butterfly mines, cluster munitions, attack nuclear power plants, use car bombs against civilian targets, execute wounded on film, kill prisoners, shoot down POWs, and target Donetsk civilian population since 2014. Yet they whine about legality and hide the facts about this attack on Chernihiv taking out one of their top generals, dozens of mercenaries, and high ranking officers at the hotel they struck. Already forgotten by the West are the atrocities the Ukrainian AZOV Brigade in 2021/22 done to the people of Luhansk and Doneks ! That sparked the intervention as well. Nothing new but it gets a way that puts Russia into a terrorist state actor. Germany has to deal with criminals from Russia but THIS is a different level of attack! Also it expelled two fsb agents some days ago which were involved in those activities. Russia is a terrorist state and has fascist tendencies, a place the Kremlin claims others are in. An Indian highest priority VIP helicopter mission transporting India's most important senior commander Bipin as well as many of India's most highest ranking captains, generals, officers, chiefs, squadron leaders all onboard crashed resulting in the death of all 14 passengers. If India cannot even guarantee their most senior military officer safety during a short and simple 4 minute flight, how can they possibly accomplish anything? Why is Kiev wasting missiles on illegal attacks in the legally disputed region of Crimea instead of using them for air defense? Borrell's words are always generalist pro-Kiev and he is as closed to compromise as his boss as well as elected western leaders and appointed ones such as Blinken in this feature. Perhaps he could lobby his native Spain to give its Patriot systems to the Kiev regime and test the feelings of the Spanish people by region. Such a poll would serve at least two purposes, not least throwing light on southern European attitudes to Ukraine. Borrell is in a sinecure deputy post of no importance except possibly being called upon to be Commission caretaker when von der Leyen is forced out of office for the same reasons as NATO's Stoltenberg -- namely exceeding charter briefs and cynically generating false hope in Ukrainian minds that they could expect special treatment. Why was a Ukrainian delegate attending G7 when it is not a member? Blinken states with certainty that Russia will act beyond (Kiev ruled) Ukraine without offering any evidence. Why did no one ask him to explain his reasoning? Had Russia had any such plans we would have seen them in action well before now with NATO and the EU at their weakest since as far back as this time last year. Tear gas used by Russia maybe as we await proof. Illegal cluster munitions used by Kiev certainly, supplied by the USA and transported through the airspace of signatory countries to the 2010 Convention lodged with the UN. Tear gas irritates, usually with no permanent damage. Cluster munition indiscriminately tear flesh and bone asunder.

Have you been sleeping or are you new in this conflict? The west has been sanctioning Russia even before the Russia invasion of Ukraine in 2022 and it just got much worse after that. Only that, Europe is heavily dependent on Russian energy and sanctioning Russia just makes China get cheap energy making China producing goods at low cost and taking over others' market share. And Russia and Saudi cutting oil production makes the situation in Europe from bad to worse. Russia's economy almost collapsed but survived. But in the long term, it is Europe suffering from high energy price making manufacturers unable to compete with others. Even now Europe is still buying Russian energy. And US might still be buying Russian nuclear energy. Russia has a lot of vital resources which other countries will gladly pay for if the west doesn't want them.
