This would not be an issue if they didn't go after Kirk so aggressively. Kirk will never be good enough to win you a Super Bowl - but good enough to get you in the playoffs and a draft pick outside the top 10. They complicated things for both QBs and the locker room. They could have found a bridge veteran QB and chosen someone in the draft - shock that Penix was there at 8 should not have been enough to upend everything.

If Kirk stays healthy penix Jr won't start until he's 28 at the earliest day it takes him 3 years to get to a good level so if it all works out you get 5 good years from him where you could of drafted any other position with the pick on the line and they help you now and the next 10 years
