It's OK if it's your choice, but not if you are forced to do it. I had a friend who spent the last several years of his life in a tiny home. His entire house was only slightly bigger than my living room. He was retired and a widower and all the kids were grown with their own families. It was almost zero maintenance, low utility bills, low taxes. He lived very comfortably within his means, and even had enough that he could travel whenever he wanted to.
