ahh i finally got to watching this... i couldn't watch it the day it was released because i saw matpat's tweet first, and i just broke down. i found the theory channels early on during the pandemic, i had limited access to the internet as a child so i've just been catching up as an adult. you and steph felt like friends who kept me company during those lonely years, and i was so grateful that there were a ton of videos to watch. i have been a fan since then. you may not have been there during my childhood, but i just want you to know that the joy i feel whenever i watch theory videos was so pure and the new hosts make me feel the same way -- like the doctor. thank you, matpat. thank you, steph. thank you for choosing yourselves and your family. we'll miss you but see you around in other forms! 🖤

I was preparing myself for this video and still lost control of my tears

I watched the Sticks video and I commented under their video but I think it will be equally appreciated here… Matpat announced his retirement to UKposts the day we were bringing our son home from the hospital, I was so sad to be entering a new and potentially scary chapter in my life without the comfort of his videos to keep me going like they always have. He said in the video he originally wanted to upload it on the day our son was born. Our sons name. Richter, from the game castlevania. So to now hear that matpats first memory is playing castlevania makes everything feel so perfect. Like the world isn’t so big after all.
