I mean, in lore this would've been the last song with Noodle hadn't been for the choppers. She was going to leave the band by jumping down from the windmill with a parachute at the end of the video but Murdoc betrayed her, which caused her to go missing

Karrah Pickard Designs Seven months after the video was released, the truth was revealed in the Gorillaz autobiography Rise of the Ogre. In it, Murdoc finally revealed that the "El Mañana" video was indeed "staged" and that Noodle is still "alive". It turns out that the entire "El Mañana" conspiracy was calculated specifically to get rid of an enemy of the band: Little Jimmy Manson, a psychotic hippie turned industry executive who was set on sabotaging Gorillaz. Jimmy auditioned for Gorillaz a few years back, but was turned down after Noodle got the job. He held a grudge with Gorillaz ever since. Murdoc saw Jimmy's plan and decided to get rid of Jimmy before it was too late. Murdoc told Jimmy that he had a plan to "help him" to kill off one of the band members so that firstly, Gorillaz would end with a bang and secondly, Jimmy could start a new band with Murdoc. Noodle was to do the "El Mañana" video with Manson stowed away on the island and then, while the windmill was crashing around them, Jimmy would shoot the guitarist whilst taking the parachute for himself. However, Murdoc turned the tables on Jimmy by not only "forgetting" to leave the weapon aboard the island but by also locking him in the windmill; Jimmy supposedly died within the crash while Noodle parachuted to safety.

Es que la canción habla de precisamente el mañana, el emisor de la canción parece hablar de cómo sus sueños aferrados a un tiempo de felicidad reciente se están deshaciendo (los helicópteros atacan la isla flotante, que representaba la libertad), y considerando lo que le pasó a Noodle, la canción habla de aquello por lo que tuvo que pasar, ella creía que ahora siendo una joven chica y estar fuera de la banda un tiempo, iba recién a poder vivir como una persona normal (recuerda que la mandaron a inglaterra de pequeña como un super soldado). Y en On Melancholy Hill (que también habla de la melancolía), ella se ve involucrada en cosas como de guerra (ya que atacan su barco) pero parece más fuerte que nunca, y 2D habla de ''estar pronto con una persona'', lo que no quiere decir que 2D cante sobre ella, pero sí de cómo la banda estaba toda separada tal vez.

Me pasa con varias canciones, como las de Angel Beats! O canciones de DDLC hechas por fans, sólo que ese sentimiento no me deja verlas por que luego se transforma en depresión v: Si algún día piensas en ver anime, te recomiendo Angel Beats!, ese anime tiene la fórmula perfecta como para hacerte llorar al tercer capítulo v:
