During my apprenticeship as a CNC machine technician, I was praised for my 3D imagination ability. But to design such a structure only from your own imagination .... I think there are only a few people in the world who can do something like this without a computer and only with a hand saw, rasp, hand plane and sandpaper. INCREDIBLE!

So would you still be using a manual bandsaw to cut the actual blocks first and then CNC the notches into the blocks later? Or could you CNC everything and all the blocks from a solid slab of timber?

Grandpa Amu is a rare generational craftsman. Watch his hands - not the first time he has done this. Much in the way oral history was passed down, I can only hope that someone in his family has the will to learn from his or her elder. It takes time, patience, the right tools and the wisdom to know how to use them. Your people are lucky to have your skill set. I was lucky enough to have a grandfather to teach me hand wrought woodworking. At the time I was a little thick headed and it took 20 years to really understand the lessons he was trying to teach but now the satisfaction I have from those lessons (and passing them on) brings the same kind of smile. I thank you for taking the time to share your art.

I had a maths lecturer when I was in the Royal Navy. He was a member of Mensa and the Magic Circle. He was also an internationally renown expert on puzzles and the science of puzzles. One year just before xmas leave he brought a large box of puzzles for us all to have a bash at. I was given a version of Grandpa Amu's puzzle. It was smaller and with 97 pieces, but definitely the same design. He disassembled the puzzle inside a bag and gave it me to take home and reassemble it during leave. I did it but unfortunately I had two "key" pieces instead of one. A valiant effort but no cigar. I contacted him years later and reminded him of the puzzle. Sadly he passed away of a brain tumour recently but I would have sent this to him had he not, he would have loved it.

@@lifetrading802 Thanks for your reply. There are so many misunderstanding. I dont like C, in fact I dont like any ruling class, whether they are C or not. But C is just composed of normal human with normal desire. As a normal human. If not threatening their benefit or power. They are even lazy to care about me, little citizen's words and behaviors, believe it or not. And of course everyone here is also very busy earning money and making life better instead of running against them. That's rather boring and profitless. Trust me! and if you come here I am sure you are 100% safe. And I can take you arround and eat delicious food here. :-)

This is INCREDIBLE! Designing it alone would be hard, but then to cut out the pieces BY HAND, and assemble it is just amazing. If I had it in front of me, 95% finished, I don't think I would be able to complete it! 👍👍

I've seen 3d printers less accurate than this man's hands and eyes. Absolutely astounding. I hope he is training the grandkids to keep doing it.

Одного не могу понять, он действительно без спец инструмента все это делает, как говорится "голыми руками"? Нет ну тогда, как минимум снимаю шляпу!!!

Grandpa Amu is an incredibly smart man, to begin with. Somewhere along in his life, I believe he either learned or taught himself some accessively amazing way of thinking things through and then just creating Beautiful pieces that are just so artistic and mind-boggling in both form and scope! Did anyone happen to notice exactly how many measurements he took? Watch it again and count. You'll be surprised! My Hats Off to YOU Grandpa Amu. You are Indeed a man of many talents. The MOST beautiful is your mind!!! Many, Many, Blessing to you Grandpa Amu.
