"In 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic raged on and kept us locked in our homes, I brought the band together to perform a secret set in front of a small video and audio crew.
It was a single day performance of my debut album “death of an optimist” in chronological order, for the only time ever.
Certain songs were edited out due to time constraints on the project.
As the DOAO era comes to a close, I wanted to air the performance on UKposts, as a thank you to everyone listening to the album and returning to live music.

I know I'm a little older than him too... I feel like maybe we're like the Great fairy grandgawdesshmother kindred kids... I'm totally from this Stone age....(this is a bona fide legit miracle I can even UKposts) the little tiny un- domesticated timeshared humans of mine(some call them nieces and nephews)... Damn the guitars in this version of In Over My Head sounded sick! Maybe even better than the original? I remember first hearing grandson's Blood // Water in an AMV vid in, I think, early 2019 if not late 2018 and, honestly, I can't describe how amazing it is to see and hear someone grow in popularity and reach, releasing a masterpiece after a masterpiece after a masterpiece of a song. grandson has made such songs, that I, and I hope many others, could always come back to and never grow tired of. Really hope grandson keeps it up and grows to unimaginable heights. Your songs helped me get through the past few years, whether I needed let out some rage, cry if I hadn't in a while or just...idk, just feel at peace with everything. Thank you.

I had such a good time watching this along fellow grandkids. I wish there was a full headlining show with crowd to cherish, as I love live recordings, but this is amazing nonetheless. I think DOAO era won't ever end... the world has kept finding new ways to keep us rock bottom and it seems its a fight that will never end
