Expanding the BRICS is the right path. The reason is very simple. - 40 years ago the West worked with China because they needed China to counter the Soviet Union, the west spoke honeys to China. Today the west is suppressing China because China is growing and becoming the west's equals. - Today the west says they want to work with India because they want to use India counter China, the west is also speaking honeys to India. But in the near future the west will also suppress India when India grows and becoming the west's equals. See the pattern? The fact is the west will not allow any non-western country to become equal to the west, and they play non-western countries against each other like fools, to keep non-western countries weak forever. The non-western emerging countries must realize this fact and put aside the differences to work together - Hunt in packs.

Unfortunately this woman does not see the historical context and sheer evil of western empires that they would bring world wars to the world just for the sake of continuing their hegemony. She is more obsessed with attacking China then to understand that india was also one of the countless colonized countries that suffered plundering and massacre by it's colonial masters. The plight of many countries today is the result of centuries of subjugation and yet the aggression and domination continues.

It's good to see that the BRICS are finally showing the world that they are a force/economy to be fully recognized. In spite of India straddling the fence and reluctance to minimize it's Western association, Iran, Argentina and possibly Venezuela are more than ready to step in.

China's success is a direct result of the West's inability to compete on a level playing field. The more obstacles and slanderous accusations the US makes about China the more it shows how dirty they are prepared to play to stay powerful. It's obvious that the West is failing due to complacent and stagnant lack of reinvestment in industry and infrastructure. China didn't do that to them - they did that to themselves.

"Finish off US hegemony"? The top 100 Companies of the world consists of 83% Western and ally companies. 14% China, 2% India. Russia is not on the list. It may be built in China, but it was invented in America. The 14% from China are mostly made up of consumers from it's 1.4 billion population, While the 83% from Western is made up of consumers globally. Let me give you an example, Google, UKposts, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter are used worldwide(Global influence). China's Wechat, Baidu customers are majority from within China locally(1.4 billion population). Do you see the influential difference against the world? China's population is huge and they restrict their people from the open world that is what makes most of it's companies ranked up there. To make it simple, China's influence is locally because most of it's consumers are from the 1.4 billion within China while the US influence is globally because most of it's consumers are from outside of the US. Good luck with China and India attempting to "finish off" US hegemony

You got it completely wrong. Allowing countries bordering Russia become members precisely provides stability for those countries, since they do not have to fear the same thing happening to them as happened with Ukraine. There is no provocation attached since the security of those countries is not less important than the security of Russia.

@@luckyluke1503 India might allow Iran and Saudi Arabia, but the CCP will do everything it can to recruit Pakistan as a client state within BRICS. Also, once Saudi and Iran are added, they might support Pakistan's bid to boost their influence. India can only allow countries like Indonesia , Bangladesh and Albania which has visibly shown lack of interest in Pakistan.

I like the idea of "The Brics" Although, I live in Australia I do not like or support what the US and its allies are doing to destroy Russia's economy and have plans to do the same to China due to America's economy crumbling and US dollar turning to shit... this does not give the US the right to sanction other countries or freezing their foreign investments creating hardship and poverty to innocent civilians. Perhaps this will be the best move to keep the west in check and reconsider its bulling and heavy-handed approach when dealing with other nations growing economies. They have colonized Africa for hundreds of years, and have caused nothing but instability, exploitation, brutality, and chaos. They have used Africa as a wasteland and are still doing so even today. The US has done nothing positive for Africa, even today they still don't help in any way. At least china is building infrastructure , which has been proven to be beneficial for the economy in Africa.

Nomenclature shouldn't be a worry, call it BRICS+ for all you care. India must see this as an excellent opportunity to reach out to other emerging economies. In fact, more upcoming African countries should apply. Excellent opportunity to discuss free-trade agreements. Also, it can act as counterweight to US-led sanctions.

China and India can refine the oil. Refineries or oil and gas items are also in the recently signed China Iran accord. As for oil production in USA, fracking are used on old oil wells, means almost empty...ouchhhh The Iranian Ahvaz fields have more than 63 bil barrels.. so Iran has a lot of untapped oil.

Chinese comunist party care only about staying in power and slowly take control of the world, to have China as your biggest partner is more a weakness than a strength. Just like Europe fully depending on Russia oil and gas. China will use the economic power against all they feel are on the way of their ambitions,the same way India views Pakistan as smaller, China sees India just the same, smaller and weaker neighbouring country that must dance at the sound of their tunes. Being so that you are members of a few clubs where China leads the way, one can say that India is starting to dance to the Chinese tune already, good on your choice of partners.

The problem with the EU and the West, in general, is that they are not resource-rich countries. They are pretty much net importers of goods with minimal exports of resources and services. While the emerging BRICS coalition with their own version of the World Bank and financial system are resource-rich countries accounting for more than 40% of the world's oil and gas. More countries will join including the majority of African countries and Latin American countries (Venezuela should be joining soon) will ensure its success. The West and EU weaponizing the US dollar and the Swift financial system is scaring off a lot of countries and pushing them towards BRICS.

As an EU citizen its appalling that our leaders and big companies CEOs only look at the east as a source of cheap products and labor, its time for the east to rise in power and make things even because we know that our leaders here wont, thats how the west became powerful and wealthy in the first place. Hopefully eastern people will put their divisions aside and work together to become better nations because quite frankly that is your biggest hurdle.

VW's Worldwide income, 50% comes from China. GM sells more Buicks in China than in USA. BASF has been in China for years. They helped China, and they helped themselves too.18% of their Worldwide profit comes from China. Disney is in China. They have a theme park in Shanghai as well as in Hong Kong. My suggestion for India to work on continuing to form its own path. It's original membership into these organizations which included China was the fact the India was apart of the Russian sphere. Russia is in the decline, China has ascended, India finds itself as having its sphere reduced because of Russia's reduction. In addition to that, Russia has grown closer to China. Although I think China has historically played other nations off each other and now wants to use Russia as a sword against the west, I feel that route will go awry. India could forge better ties with other groups, but it may ultimately backfire, when atrocities take place and one nation stands back and allows it to happen, other countries may ask, "where was India?". Focusing on trade with the aggressors and all parties. But in the end all it offered were words, which as children we are reminded only sticks and stones break bones, words never hurt.

Next year India is supposed to host the BRICS summit. It will be interesting to see how things unfold. Also next year India will also host the G20 and Quad summit as well. It can be a huge year for us from geopolitical point of view. Also I didn't get the logic why expanding the BRICS can be against our national interest. If China will become more powerful by expansion of this group so will India, and China cannot unilaterally make decisions if anything goes against our interest we can block it.

From what I see China wants BRICS as an alternative to the G7 banking and predatory funding model, considering India and China with cheap labor produce goods and services for other countries and pollute their own countries, which may be better for the world as a whole but Indian reliant on the $. From what I see G7 may use Taiwan to create a conflict and actual war with China (like Ukraine and Russia) China is already responding by moving closer to G7-friendly countries to attack if there is a war. India and China both are not self-reliant on energy needs considering they are partnering with Russia has created a balance in favor of the 3 country's alliance. China will choke the countries with the supply China so for Russia and China, other countries are not a threat, since they will need to deal with chaos in their own country. in 6 months' time (2023), we may see a totally different world order or return of god since the event happening right now sees never happened in the last 2000 years of planet history.

The thing is that India will not stay at 1x% and China will not stay at 70% China growth is slowing down while India is speeding up. Still, 3 other member, Russia has its own game so will not have any growth any time soon while Brazil, South Africa doesn’t seems to be able to get things together atm. So India will always be able to command directions of BRICS even with China as captain

India fears that china will execute it's predatory tactics that may burden india directly or indirectly... What china did to Pakistan , sri lanka, nepal is unimaginable.. All three are bankrupt or about to bankrupt..
