South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has claimed that Saudi Arabia wants to join BRICS. He says Crown Prince MBS showed interest in joining the bloc during his recent meeting with him. Is Riyadh trying to disassociate itself from the West? Molly Gambhir reports.

I'm Canadian. I never had an issue with our neighbours to the south. We holidayed in the US all the time. The people in general are nice folks. We have always hoped to one day retire in the US as to take advantage of the nice weather and reasonable cost of living. It's unfortunate but our feelings in regard to the US have changed rapidly in recent years. The government is dirty, They lie through their teeth on a daily basis. They are dictators and bullies. They are the ultimate warmongers and only care about their interests. NOW, they are proven terrorists with these Norstream bombings. BRICS + (PLUS); it has been reiterated by a couple of leaders and analysts. Supposedly many countries are interested particularly to curb the US hegemony and to permanently circumvent the sanctions. The value of the US dollar used to be trust other than the Saudi Arabian oil. Now, no country trust the US and certainly the petrodoller is soon to be the latter.

This Completes World Economy. Russia, Saudi Arabia control world energy trade. China and India are manufacturing powerhouse. South Africa is the mineral pwerhouse. All 5 Original BRICS are agricultural powerhouse. Such a economic partnership can control 40-60% world economy. All they need is a common currency.

dont take on a common currency, then you will have problems like EU is going to have. one negligent partner who upsets the currencies margins will effect all countries. nothing could be worse for countries with a large disparity between the rich and the poor, the poor will now not only have to worry about inflation from their own countries economic decisions, but they could suffer from the decisions of other countries economic decisions.

Which wise move. Visiting a rich country? South Africans never cease to amaze amaze. Who gets to become the BRICS member is decided by China, India and Russia who the strong founding members. Don't forgot that South Africa was just tagged alone as part of Africa representation. the current South African government has nothing to offer domestically to it's people, nothing to offer continentally and globally apart from selling it's resources cheap to the western market. The BRICS members are preparing a global dollar decoupling and developing their financial communication system and central banks to trade in local currencies instead of the dollar to avoid the effect of western sanction on their economies. What it is South Africa doing? The national payment system still depend on Mastercard and Visa. Power is contested with taking small steps every day to accomplish set goals. South Africa is a country with huge potential and smart, dedicated and ambitious citizens but an handicapped government and weak leadership.
