As a British born Australian who has spent some time in India, albeit a long time ago, India can help bridge and quell the tension between East and West because it understands the West, probably more than any other Asian country. As an American, I will say that I understand that Russia and India have a longstanding relationship; I agree with their decision to remain in the drills. It would be foolish and shortsighted to withdraw, just because of Russian aggression in Ukraine. In that regard, it is an agreeable decision by India. I can also say that I admire India’s strong sense and display of sovereignty. It seems that India has refused to bow to the West, and to allow foreign powers to dictate their decisions. As far as it goes with China also being involved in the drills… I would hope Russia would have enough foresight to have no joint drills between India and the PLA. Participating in this Vostok 2022 exercise in Russia, gives every soldiers a chances of exposure , to gain some experience from one another.

Fear and ambition rule the world, meanwhile morality always seems to be up for debate. Why can’t neutrality be an option? Is peace a foolish idealist’s dream?

The reason India is here with Russia & China in war games is because the West especially US & UK scr. wed India in the past despite similarities in ideology & democratic functioning. It comes down to a matter of trust, and there's a huge trust deficit India has with certain nations.

I never wanted RIC unification more than now. India and china should end it's disputes and should agree in forming a military alliance, like quad and asean. We cannot keep thinking of the past anymore. We have to think of the big picture. India, china and Russia, comming together will change the Asia and will make Asia a place to migrate to, rather than a place where people migrate from.

Playing both ends from the middle has worked for India for decades. I hope, for India's sake, it continues to do so. India being a member of the Quad (especially for its future) is logical, though it no doubt upsets Russia and China. Japan isn't the only reason why India withdrew its navy, they withdrew partly because of chinese navy's participation in the exercises, which means excercising with chinese navy would halt India's goals with the quad to bother china at the sea to keep china away from Ladakh and Arunachal pradesh.

India is a country I actually respect for its strong army and its strive to better itself. I'm really sorry though that it chose to side with Russia. I think an alignment with the west would play much more in its favor and in the favor of the free world in the long run.

Mongolia is also have to balance, because it’s bordering only two countries, China and Russia. And it could not decline Russian offers, because it would mean falling into hands off China. Even US, Mongolian strategic partner and so called third neighbor, agreed for Mongolia to keep relationships with Russia.

I definitely can see India's point of view wanting to stay neutral and free to choose participate in military drills with any foreign nation regardless who they are. I see many people are concern about India's neutral stand. Listen the world is on fire and we don't want to put petroleum on it. If we choose USA side then Russia and China will feel unsafe from India and the same thinks going to happened to USA and NATO if we take the side of Russia and China.
