I think the swingcopter thrusters tell you the gravity. The upper thruster fires for normal gravity, and the lower thruster fires with reverse gravity. I think.

swingcopters dont actually change gravity, upon "changing gravity" and entering a different portal your gravity will still be the same as when you entered the swingcopter mode in

So something about the swing. You can tell what gravity state it's in by looking at its booster flames. If there's a flame in the middle and the bottom, it's going up. If there's a flame in the middle and the top, it's going down. It's still kind of confusing, since it's a new gamemode introduced to us after almost 7 years of having the same seven gamemodes.

For the swingcopter, the trick is to check the thruster. It's like this: Bottom thruster -> You go up Top thruster -> You go down
