All those sensors would be so useful! Can't even decide on what idea to write so I'll just write a couple of them :D I would make a LED system behind my speakers that lights up to the music with the sound sensor. My refrigirator tends to shut itself off every now and then too so as a temporary fix I would set up the temperature sensor and the buzzer to warn me when it happens again. It would be really cool make it so that all of my outdoor lights switch on when it's dark outside using the light sensor too. I could go on and on but I'm not gonna, this starter kit is just so awesome!

tinyMonster - Energy Efficient LED lights with Adaptive Brightness Control What problem are we going to solve? The lightning system used in any normal/smart home or building is still working on century old principle of ON or OFF which need to be modernize to safe energy. During day time we can use natural light to brighten up our homes/buildings but in the early morning, evening or bad weather when less natural light is available we have to use artificial means of light. Using current lighting systems we simply turn it ON at full power instead of complementing natural light with artificial one. And this result in waste of lot of energy which is also the biggest crisis on our planet. So in order to save energy we need to built a lightening system intelligent enough so it can complement the natural light when available, instead of simply turning on and consume maximum power. What are we going to build to solve this problem? How is it different from existing solutions? Why is it useful? To built energy efficient Lightening system for our smart homes/building I am going to built intelligent smart lighting with adaptive brightness control to maximize benefit of natural light. On doing little research about such solution I have found only few IEEE research papers so far So this might be first Such solution. One of the biggest advantage is its energy efficiency by varying the brightness and complement the natural light to maintain the adequate light. How does your solution work? What are the main features? The basic working principle is get the current light data from sensors and then vary the brightness of light accordingly to maintain certain light level. The main features are; - IOT enabled - Self Calibrating - Self Learning Sony Spresense development board will be the mind of this system. It will be used for all the calculation, data manipulation, sensor and control interface. Its GPS will be used to know device location which will help the device to enter in low power mode when its night outside. List the hardware and software you will use to build this. HARDWARE: - LED lights - LED drivers with digital control - ESP-12 - Sony Spresense Board with extension board Grove Modules: - Base Shield (its compatibility is verified with SONY Spresense from given schematic) - Grove - LCD RGB Backlight (to display info) - Grove - Smart Relay (turn ON/OFF Lights) - Grove - Touch Sensor (to get input from user) - Grove - Button (to get input from user) - Grove - Light Sensor (to acquire light data) - Grove - LED (indicator) This idea has already been selected for free hardware in “Make it better” contest organized by Hackster.io and also in “Microchip IoT Contest” organized by electromaker.io with little variation. I have been working on it at the moment using handmade circuits using Veroboard.
