Thank you so much man , you just saved a 23 year old many years !!! Cheers 🥂 from AZ USA a young pedal builder /amp repairs ! 💜

Excellent tutorial Paul. I just bought a BB from eBay but I haven't used it yet but I will be very soon. I loved the diptrace tutorials too. I downloaded that a month ago and attempted to design something but couldn't get my head around it. I knew what I wanted to do but couldn't get it into the program. Thanks for the bonus you put in my last order. Greatly appreciated, thank you very much.

I've got the budget one on the far right, stuck it to a parts container about the size of a Smallbear DD case that I wired up with a pair of output jacks and a power supply jack - I use a multi-voltage wall-wart "Battery Replacer" unit to provide power. Just finished designing/building my first pedal with that setup, served me well the past 4 months.

Nice video, getting ready to load up the next one!

This is great! I'm planning to mess around with guitar pedal building, follow some famous and not too complex circuits, and experiment a little. Maybe I'll find something that I really like the sound of, and make it into a unique pedal of my own. Great channel! Very helpful!
@Kyle1716 років тому
Looking forward to the next one. Are you going to create videos all the way through to completed pedal? A step by step tutorial would be awesome with this level of detail. Thanks!

EXCELLENT! I reckon I'm a pretty alright pedal builder, from a kit, and would like to improve my understand of electronic to make my own circuits, this is a fantastic lesson! Thanks!

Spade connectors... genius!!! Can't believe I hadn't seen it before. Jumper cables... I do recommend getting a few rolls of 22AWG tinned solid core in a number of colours. Cut off what you need to size. The dedicated stuff has thick insulation which is good/sturdy.
@AdamTheAd-vanc3d6 років тому
har234908234 You could also use Cat 5/6 cable .
@har2349082346 років тому
Good call. 22AWG - and probably a lot cheaper than individual rolls! I've done it but there are some problems... it's not tinned which isn't much of a prob, but the insulation can be... slippery? I had a bastard of a time trying to strip the stuff I had... but it's worth considering.
@AdamTheAd-vanc3d6 років тому
har234908234 Haha indeed . Yes you need the special wire cutters and a gripping pair of plierd to strip. I built a whole 13 breadboard synth with the stuff. Would have cost me a packet if i had bought the pre made stuff . Plus you can dress it in and cut it to suit and keep your board tidy. Check out my prototype on my channel if you get a mo. You will see Cat 5 all over it ;-)

Hey Paul love your videos! Just wondering where you got those small 4mm spade connectors to slide over solder lug pots?
@DiyguitarpedalsAu6 років тому
I cant remember :( could have been jaycar, sorry mate.

double delay in the future?

Any bread-board recommendations??? I'm looking for a quality one........
@lilliampumpernickel99166 років тому
a while ago i bought a really cheap breadboard online, its my only one and iv'e been using it for years it is painfully bad to work with, when buying a breadboard, like he said, buy the not so cheap ones.

The terminals your talking about are called bootlace terminals and where invented by Zoller & Fröhlich.

Tried to build a half-digital/half-analog pedal on a breadboard, but it's very noisy (it is actually a clean sound as it is supposed to be, but I can hear the "clicking" of a led turning on and off). How can I get rid of that?
@thesphericalguy90186 років тому
Breadboards are inherently noisy due to lack of shielding and long component legs. I'm sure you know that by now, but for anyone else wondering.
@HazeAnderson5 років тому
I use trimmers on the breadboard instead of pots.
@johnnytheangel16 років тому
I'd like to know where you get your breadboards from at the price your quoting, cat price for the cheapest one you showed $14.95. (you know the company! i'm in Qld)
@DiyguitarpedalsAu6 років тому
Sorry could be a supplier price, i forget sometimes most poeple dont have the buying options i do. With that said there are tonnes on Mouser under $10, i dont think the stock wisher but plenty of other quality brands (global speciality, bud, etc). Small bear also has some breadboards. No idea what brand jaycar would be selling.

thanks buddy

I think I should have used a breadboard for my first pedal instead of soldering everything.
@thomasseaton83203 роки тому
I ruined a breadboard like this one on the right with pcb mount pots.
@daithibailey3 роки тому
Appreciate the info, but I think this could have been condensed into 5 minutes max. It's a bit erratic and non linear
@jk-765 років тому
I have such a bad reaction to constant mouth noises in videos. I love the info but the trend is killing info channels
@Sixalienasa3 роки тому
Good stuff, but a trifle neurotic.
@stevengriffin16766 років тому
Yeah, ok, "Wisher" brand breadboards... a run-out model, WB-106 + J = AUD$41.92 before tax (10%GST) Yeah, basic...? or, had you forgotten how big the internet is..? (AUD = Australian Dollars) I "wish" alright!
@Ravenseyes10Рік тому
Wow! You speak so inefficiently. Everything is said 3x.
@brain5prain5 років тому
Anyone needing that much information about a breadboard needs to spend the money on a commercial pedal and focus on playing.
