Thanks gor covering all the candidates. But had to say this Magnus always praises indian chess players to be honest he some times do praise a lot . He even invited all of the youngsters in his academy offerspill so he truly respect them and share his fair judgement before candidates, even Vishy also agree with him. Its just that nobody expect Gukesh to be that good and win in field of nepo, fabi, hikaru one of top experienced players its hugely insane achivement at this age

There is nothing wrong in what magnus said. Gukesh had a fantastic tournament which nobody expected. It's the same way how prag played finals against Magnus last year. As there are many senior players on the list with much higher ratings than Gukesh, obviously he is not the favourite.

Magnus said Hikaru and Fabi are faourite to win, then its Ian. He would be surprise to see Alireza win but it would be shocking if any one of other four (Pragg, Vidit, Gurkesh, Nijat) wins. Its fair assessment no big deal. Indian media is just pathetic they twist words and derive conclusion which is not true. Magnus never underestimated or negatively commented against any player he just ranked them who is more faourite and who is less.

Every chess player can agree with magnus ... fabi nepo and hikaru are great players fabi is the second highest rated player in the history and hikaru was doing well in the classical chess he was on a streak and i didn't even expected that any Indian would win i also thought these supar GM's have great chances and also nepo was doing great and was 2 Times winner . Anish also said that fabi , hikaru has great chances because their base level is so High and even a one mistake against them is deadly . Gukesh was very consistent and lucky ( I watched all the games played by him and others )

I should make one thing very clear. I love how so many people started to recognise Chess but this thing brought so many psuedo fans as well. Those who knew nothing about Gukesh, Vidit, Pragg, Magnus etc etc. Prior to this candidates but Now wants to comment on anything and everything they can get their hands on. Yes Magnus said Four will do poorly, not because he hates Indians or what but because of his own experiences as well as their experience of Candidates. They are competing for the first time in candidates against top players like Nepo, Caruana and Hikaru. These guys have a history of performing really really well under pressure.

If only the favourites would win then others would have not come to the tournament. In any sport, the results are never confirmed at the start at the tournament. That’s what makes sport interesting. Magnus choosing favourites that don’t go to win is normal. No need to make it as an issue.

We are all extremely Happy for Gukesh and he so deserved the victory. He has to follow it up though. As for Magnus , he is the best player ever lived that played chess and is still clearly far and beyond everybody else as the world no 1. Chess is very democratic, only way to get to the top is winning. Some people deleted comments from last video. One Indian guy said it's stupid to comment when only half tournament is done when, Gukesh was on top. I had replied that it's utmost stupidity to say 4 people winning would be shock. I said these players are there in the competition for a reason. Gukesh proved me right. Pragg defeated magnus in an insignificant shorter time format match, even if you take that shorter time control into consideration magnus still leads by a margin of 3 to 4 games, pragg never defeated magnus in a classical game.. Only a true chess fan knows the level of magnus carlsen, he is widely regarded as the greatest player of all time, no one came close yet, maybe the younger generation has a shot like gukesh or abdusattarov but they are not there yet.. Before that incident gukesh had a fantastic Olympic run with 8 straight wins in a row and Olympic medal, no media coverage for that at all..
