Andrew Garfield is one of the most underrated FANTASTIC actors of our time... Couldn't have picked a better person to portray Desmond!...

A Japanese sniper was later on record saying he had him in his sights...more than once. His gun jammed every bloody time he pulled the trigger, fucking hell Desmond's story makes me teary eyed every time I see and remmeber it.

Above all else this man did, I just have to admire the sheer commitment Desmond had to keep true to his principles.

He made a promise to God and kept it. That alone may have been the hardest thing he ever had to do.

Doss was a classic example of never judging a book by it's cover. His allies went from hating his guts, to having respect to world's end and realising he was one of the few pure people in the world. It doesn't take a brave man to hold a gun. It takes a brave man to serve for his nation. It takes an even braver one to serve unarmed.

"Just One More" many say a hero wears a cape. many say they are people of violence. many say they are only there for fame and glory. or even for money. many feel a hero is just a person who just saves cause they can. but they are wrong. a hero is one who puts themselves on the line. who risks life and limb for another. "Please Help Me Get One More" they care not for themselves. but for the safety of everyone else. help anyone they could. regardless if they get a thanks or not. regardless if they make it back or not. they move. they act. that lone act of selflessness is enough. an act most never could give. the greatest sacrifice. the greatest price. war will never change as an quote from the first avengers movie: "Oh There Is No One Like Me..." "There Is Always Someone Like You" You dont have to save someone from life and death to be a hero. a simple act of kindness is enough sometimes. to put a smile onto someones gloomy day can be someones hero. giving someone food they desperately need. helping someone load their groceries into their car, helping them cross the street, getting something from the top shelf in a store for some one. the title of "Hero" isnt given to a person of great power. "Hero" is for someone who does something someone should do. Saving their fellow neighbor, fellow human, fellow creature. from saving their life to putting a smile onto their face when they havent felt happiness in a long time. even if one doesnt change the world. even if you didnt win. even with all odds against them. they continue on. shouldering the burden of the title through all hardships. but we must be heroes as well. showing respect, generosity, honesty. because when the heroes save us.... who will save them? who will help them in their darkest hour. who can help them when they cant help themselves. that is when we become heroes. and they return that back. and we give back again. to all heroes out there reading this. no matter how big or small. thank you for everything you do. thank you for any sacrifice you may have given. from the least worrisome, or the greatest sacrifice of all "with great power must also come with great responsibility" never give up. fight on heroes. as we will fight with you.. 07

Every now and then I'll take a look at medal of honor citations, just to get a look at the men who served before me. They always tell stories of the most ridiculously brave actions I've ever heard of. True heros

Honestly Smitty was my favorite character. It's shown perfectly that under that "tough, gangster, badboy" attitude, he is a genuine good guy. Yes he had some scuffles with Desmond but when shit went down for real like when Desmond was beat up in his sleep, who stopped them? Smitty did. When Desmond ran first into fire to rescue more people, who followed him first? Smitty. When Desmond volunteered to work longer to help more, who volunteered to go be his guard? Smitty. Truly and underrated character, I wish he was real.

The sacrifice and reserve of Desmond Doss is inspirational. all of us should be grateful to them for our brave soldiers who gave it all in the name and meaning of FREEDOM. Best movie ever to come out

hands burned to tendons by sliding ropes, carrying no rifle but twice the supply of medical equipment, the work of an entire platoon done on a day where prayer was made, smart and clever, strong and fast, god or no god he saved more then others, moving until his body gave out, the enemy ignoring wartime rules he was beaten and bruised, but like the cliff on that ridge, that was bombed, shot and blasted, HE DID NOT FALL

A true real life hero. I saw this movie, watched it 3 more times after that later. Love it so much. The amount of courage and self-sacrifice it took to face death head on in this great act of kindness, I can't even fathom it. When I watched this movie the part that gave me cry was when he came down from the ridge after saving so many, and he was walking between all the other soldiers and they were putting their hands on his shoulders to reassure him, and they all just had this look of awe on their faces that this man had risked his life over and over, despite how they had treated him.

The fruits of his efforts produced a beautiful shade of grey, concocted with his cast iron conviction forged in honor and respect for his fellow man. Kissed by the angel of death numerous times only to pick himself up and push his battle damaged vessel to it's utmost limit. Hanging on a thread uttering the words that spurred his undying will, "Just one more.". In any era of life there are a seldom few who in every possible sense are the epitome of a hero. Desmond Doss, is one of those seldom few.

1:23 Even despite that this movie doesn't have any relation to Marvel Universe or his role as Spider Man, I can't stop watching Andrew Garfield as the Spider Man and Captain America from WW2 at the same time, but without super powers and from another dimension. Specially due to his moral codes of not killing anyone, just like his character of Peter Parker, and thanks to No Way Home and Dr. Strange.
