This song unlocked an old memory

I feel like this song has summed up my all feelings and stories. I'm the guy in the recieving end who was told to let her go. Four year back, our bond started with normal friendship but little did I know I was in love with her in just few months. Sadly, she didn't have any love-feelings for me even though she loved talking to me and cared for me. I was hurt several times but I was still there because I loved her so much. Eventually, she also fell in love with me but her love was still below mine and relationships never worked out even though I tried a lot. So, our bond had been getting in relationship then taking break and again relationship for next 3 years. We tried to be friends but I was clear it was impossible for me. She was pretty clear that she won't be able to make me happy but always wished me the best. Even after 4 years since falling in love with her, I still do love her and have soft spot for her even though we don't talk anymore. I'm still here hoping things will turn out. Listening to this song has really helped to look from her viewpoint which I wasn't able to in past 4 years. Now, I just wish her the best, hope she'll get all the happiness and success in her life. She deserves so much joy. I hope we can be good-friends if our path ever cross in near future. I'm really grateful for the memories that we had between us and will forever cherish em'. Ohh gosh, I'm literally in tears now!

I love the fact that there are songs like this that deal with problems to which only a few people can relate to. It makes me feel comfortable and validated, knowing that I am not the only one who feels the same way. Personally, I've been through a situation like this, and it was really difficult. It was about a person who I truly wanted to stay close with, but only as a friend and nothing more. As much as I tried, I really could not bring myself to like the person the same way he feels about me. I already made it clear to him about my feelings, but he still loves me regardless. I felt so bad because there's nothing much I could do about it, other than just breaking ties with him. Otherwise, he said his feelings might get worse. I don't know where he is right now, but I am truly hoping that he has found the person he deserves to be with. I don't mean to down anyone who got rejected by the people they like. I know it is harsh, but if ever the person you like rejects you, please respect their answers. Perhaps the person may not have seen something that they want in you; however, this does not necessarily mean that you're in any lowly degree in terms of character. Don't lose hope though! one thing is for sure, you'll still have a chance to find someone else who can reciprocate your affection, and love you for who you truly are.
