I love the message of this song. It’s not about toxic feminism. It’s celebrating all types of girls and women. She is supporting all body shapes but you can work out and change your body. The different outfits show you can be more feminine or more masculine but you still are a girl we all have the same struggles. And we are all beautiful in our own way. The words on the shirts at the end show the beauty in the inside as well. ❤

I believe everyone is different and I’m never jealous of a girl but there’s always that one girl that does and is all competitive and etc. I myself don’t even understand this song but I just like the beat, I consider myself “different and weird” cause most people and friends really do say so I am, and i think I’ve realized that but I know I’m not the only one. @00waterski00 No Waterski, I don't think even Hailee was even explicitly OR implicitly meaning that the use of "most girls" was "most girls suck". I think you missed the point of the song. I also should just for the sake of transparency state I am a dude before I say what I say next. I have always HATED people who say "You aren't like most XYZ" regardless of what the XYZ happens to be specifically. This is because what you are doing is twofold, you are saying that they are somehow better or above whatever that "moxt xyz" is but also you are not complimenting them on what they actually are you are complimenting them on what they AREN'T, and even worse it often goes unstated only to have the blanks filled in by the one hearing it. So in this case is it that: "You aren't like 'Most Girls' ....because you aren't a shallow, vapid, narcissistic bitch?", as if its fair to set her apart from the rest of 'girldom' by some unfair standard to cast down the rest of the gender (like you were suggesting)? Is it REALLY a compliment to be told you arent, the above, while not stating one iota anything about what you actually ARE. Is that how Hailee taking it? I don't think so. Or is it that its just a completely empty, useless and ultimately WORTHLESS comparison because of the very fact that there is almost no such thing as "Most Girls" (as illustrated by the song) and in reality "Most Girls" are really only unified by one key characteristic and thats the fact that they are living their genuine life in their own way. No matter the paths they choose they are all equally valid and to be respected.

When I was younger I was a "Not like other girls" girl. I've gotten older and realized that there's nothing wrong with liking more 'girly' things. "Not like other girls" phases happen because society teaches us that masculine things are better and should be valued above more feminine ones when there's nothing wrong with liking either one. This isn't intended to be against more masculine women, if you're not hurting anyone like what you like.

Pinhead Larry I agree. These days people take "love yourself" too much and use it to shame others for wanting to change. I am around 40lbs over weight and my bmi is climbing into the "obese" categories but I still look pretty good bc I carry my weight well. But I start eating better with a lot of veggies and start exercising and all I hear everyday at work is how "perfect" I am and I don't need to diet or change myself. They even make fun of how I brought my green veggies for lunch instead of eating out, or say "xx can't have a soda. She's on a "diet" and snicker about me.

Giving confidence and motivation to make positive changes isn't tearing them down, believe it or not, just saying 'you're great no matter what' doesn't work for everyone! I'm sorry to say this but some people need to hear more, and this is a sad fact but while everyone has positive aspects, nobody is perfect, and everybody has something bad about themselves, like me, I have horrible skin that is covered in eczema and looks horrible, and I would love to treat it and be rid of it, but not because I worry people will judge me for it, but because it itches and is uncomfortable, so I out effort with products and medicine to clear my skin. I so that for me not for anyone, so why is any different when a girl wants it? Having high self esteem and wanting to make positive changes are not mutually exclusive. Like I said, some people, man or woman, need more than a generic preschool cartoon message saying 'you're special!' Some people legitimately think there's something they can do to to better themselves, and if they actually try, good for them!
