We can have as many parties as we want, but apparently...we have only wanted mainly...2 big parties. Based on voting over past century or so. Plus, if we had say 6 parties...the most popular person running for a POTUS, or any elected position gets 30% of vote and the 5 other parties get 14 % each. We end up electing a President that only 30% of the US voting population wanted in office. The remaining majority population of 70%...lost out. It wouldn't make sense to vote that way, hence...we inevitably went into 2 ish party system. Ross Perot did great in 92 as an independent but not enough & those votes hurt Bush n Clinton. Too bad Perot didnt win. Would be interesting to see had he won, how the following almost 30 yrs til now would look like. Check out the interesting and pretty much, hidden...history of Republicans. And how many high society black men held seats. And in 1700s too I'm pretty sure, but that was b4 our Republic was established but they had clout, no doubt.😁👍 Also, South always portrayed as racists but silence on truth of North.
