Wonder how we beat the F-150?! Well... it just comes down to some basic physics. Most tow tests are actually about the weight of the vehicle, not the torque they produce. So how did our little 2500lb Cyber Truck out tow a 4600lb F-150!? Well, it's pretty simple. The F-150 was in fact in RWD mode only. Trucks are designed to carry heavy loads in the bed, which means when a truck is unloaded, the rear end is quite light. We know the maximum gross vehicle of the Ford is around 7500lbs. That means, when fully loaded, you can assume there's roughly 3750lbs on the front axle, and 3750lbs on the rear axle. If that holds true, that means when there is no load, if the truck only weighs 4600lbs - 3750lbs balanced in the front... boom the back of the truck unweighted probably only weighs about 1150lbs. Less than the cyber truck. Hence, the Cyber truck was able to win.

It's 1/8th size, but 1/2 scale. Scale only takes dimensions into consideration, not volume.

Hi guys, i love your videos a hell of a lot and im glad to get a Q&A about one of your projects, but please for the love of god if your going to do talking heads style content can you please please please lock your focus off?? it would save you from all of the blurry moments when the camera is refocusing. aside from that i want to thank you for keeping me motivated in my own automotive projects. im restoring a 1974 HJ holden wagon with my father, honestly you guys have inspired me so much to try fabrication and learn how to weld (havnt done it yet but its on the cards) i honestly one day aspire to be like you guys and work on projects that you want to do that are inspired by pure imagination and problem solving, as well as the ability for you to ask "Why Not?" instead of the "Why Should i?". Quick reference regarding the torque, in case anybody was interested. The 1250 hp gas turbine of a T-80U (1986) outputs 4,395 Nm at 3,000 rpm, the 1500 hp gas turbine of an M1 Abrams (1980) gets 5,355 Nm at 1,000 rpm and the 1500 hp diesel engine of the Leopard 2 (1979) provides 4,699 Nm at 1650 rpm. (1/2 scale Cybertruck: 2,410)

Love the truck and couldn't believe it when it pulled the F150, but, realized that you were only using RWD on the F150. I still say it would have been better making the truck 3/5ths size rather than 1/2 just for the interior space and the ability to make a door safely. This gave me ideas about converting my ford E150 conversion Van to electric.

This series was so fun to watch! Thanks for the Q & A and I'd watch more of them. Especially the Power Loader because when I took a CAD class it was fun but difficult to work on. The projects we made were incredibly simple and still took me over an hour to design, I couldn't imagine designing something as intricate as the Power Loader!

I think you could have a 2 speed gear box much like the Rimac Concept 2 if that would be possible. Or put on a torque converter that engages via a clutch when you reach the current top speed. So The clutch i constantly disengaged untill you reach your top speed, then it bites and since its connected to a torque converter, you can go faster. So you still have this low speed toque.
