Am I the only one who felt bad for the Kig-Yar who got slaughtered near the end? Sure, they were attempting to salvage a focus cannon, but they were also working for Nor Fel, who was genuinely likable in the first two Rion Forge novels.

yea its a shame because to my knoweldge nor fel gets her salvage legit so the drugs she sold here while perhaps illegal in the unsc were aquired via legitamit salvage......the real question is where is there ship as a phantom should only have a sublight drive and no slipspace so how did they get here? is there just a kig yar ship floating around wondering where there buddies are

We knew there were Spartans not at Reach. "All active teams bar Grey" was never the truth. Halsey even says it in her journal.

Yes we did know that , but the more Spartans you remove from Reach the less desperate and "last chance" operation Red Flag becomes. It just becomes nonsensical to not have your Spartans defending the last fortress before Earth .Halsey knew Reach was coming , since it took essentially 2 months The events around Reach are a way larger mess than this problem though.@@KillerOrca

That's a Harvester. Different model excavator (and also the one wr blow up in Spartan Ops). This takes place well after the Ace books do. This is the Scarab we destroy in the mission of the same name on Halo Wars

Those already exist, they were commented on during Halo 4 and 5s lifespan. In essence, the procedures to make the Spartan-IIs were leaked during their existance (simple result of a war of extermination) and any company without the morales and with enough money can attempt to make similar. There was a canon fodder post about it. Halo 5s armor sets included several that were noted as being non-UNSC in origin (Bucaneer comes to mind, alongside Raijin and Tetsuin).
