Ok so i clicked on the video and a scream from the deepest parts of hell itself welcomed me WOW

Overrun by the parasite, one of the UNSC’s living weapons suddenly found itself undergoing, a new augmentation…” I LOVE this excerpt, it is everything I’ve ever wanted to hear from a Flood horror story and it is written and delivered fantastically, I am so excited to see where this goes and what this adds to the canon. Not to mention, just in time for Halloween. 🎃💀

Looks like the only/best thing the Spartan armor failsafes does is destroy the helmet, thus the individual's head and brain of course, keeping the Flood from learning any important information. But still, the creature has possession of a *super soldier* with powerful armor and shielding. An enhanced Combat Form capable of taking down other Spartans...

That was a very interesting short story and it explains what happened to the Spartans that were sent to that site because one captain that made the biggest mistake which almost cost a full-blown outbreak.

I really really hope that with the way 343i are starting to reintroduce the Flood that it means we will see them in game as enemies and not just more customization. I hope the ending of this with the flood infected spartan fleeing to the condor is 343i setting up a future season/DLC/game. This gave me chills and has me excited for the future of Halo.

I'm curious if the Spartan boarding the Condor is a way 343 may intend to bring the flood back in a future installment. Yeah it's 4 years but that condor could have made it's way to a remote planet to consume biomass and build a grave mind. The Flood Human and Flood Forerunner war didn't happen in a few days. It was years of buildup and back and forth scorched earth tactics.

This is such an outstanding way to give everyone what they want. I was pretty bummed when I heard there was a story developed where Spartans were taken over by the flood that was going to be integrated into season 5, but was later scrapped to work on key gameplay features (which is a tough call that totally makes sense when you have limited resources). Having this story be told in this format so we still get to experience it AND have the technical fixes is a stroke of genius and truly appreciated.

Just listened to this whole thing. (SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T LISTENED TO THIS) Holy crap this is some serious stuff right here, it barely took the flood long before one of the leviathan members was already overwhelmed, the flood swarmed him and shattered his visor, (you can imagine what his expression was like before he was infected) (one of the replies corrects this innacurate point, apologies for misinterpreting it, Ill provide the actual context with a part of the audio log: Overrun by the parasite, one of the UNSC’s living weapons suddenly found itself undergoing a new augmentation-twisted into a champion of dormant darkness. The Spartan’s Mjolnir armor attempted to enact its countermeasures, pressurizing the hydrostatic gel layer to render itself immobile, and then detonating microexplosives within the helmet which shattered the Spartan’s visor as it immolated the head within . . . and it still wasn’t enough. ) Whats worse was his mind was still conscious so he could see everything that was happening which reminds me of what happened to Jenkins, albeit his infection was quite different because the infection form he was infected by was too old to fully turn him but he felt the pain and did his best to fight against the parasites will and try to end his life. Plus this is also very similar to what happened to Jacob Keyes since he was being used to create a Proto-Gravemind because he had vital information regarding humanity and earth so the flood decided to use his knowledge rather than attempt to fully turn him (until the chief arrived and punched his head to get his neural lace and prevent the flood from consuming anymore information) Something tells me the shiva missiles won't work, based on the end part of this audiobook, the infected spartan is doing his best to fight against the supposed proto-gravemind that is attempting to swarm a UNSC Condor and whats worse is the UNSC saturn has no idea, they are focused on shiva nuking the astroid that they won't even notice a condor has been infected (this may not seem too serious to many but UNSC condors have slipspace drives). I am a little bummed that this isn't happening in present time since this apparently takes place 4 years before infinite. On a sidenote: I love the Cortana reference from CE they placed in this audio book, 'It wasn’t a natural formation'

Hearing the last thoughts of someone as they slowly get infected is bone chilling. Like imagine watching as you tear people apart thinking “why cant i stop” when you know exactly what is happening, but cant do anything about it. Some voice in the back of your mind slowly getting louder until it takes over completely. Trying in vain to stop the spread of this nightmare, only to blink out of existence just in time to watch the condor take off knowing that you failed

I absolutely love story content like this. If you guys don’t have the budget for narrative cutscenes every season anymore, I’d at least love audio books or audio dramas for the fracture story shards each “alternate universe” core.

Saved for later, can't wait! Update: I've now watched it and I loved it, really cool parallels, loved the ramifications that came from breaking Protocol, and the narration from Alex Wakeford was great, did a really cool job with the eerieness of the flood voices.

I like how some of their armor had the charges in them. I always like the Gallows Visor in Halo 5, it looked cool and its lore mentioed detenation upon flood infection

I love how the Flood's pov is depicted, I'd love to see more of that.

"USURP... CONDOR..." Well shit... that can't be good this could have two posible ends 1) The Spartan managed to stay long enough for the nuclear fire to dust him alongside Site 22 2) The condor took off and now... its out there somewhere among the stars waiting for the next unfortunate victims... 343 left a open ending here with a lot of potential

This was phenomenal! Those audio excerpts from Waypoint are the best kind of promotion this game can get! Favorite part was the AI override phrase of the Captain *actiones secundum fidei*, it reminded me *undid Iridium* the phrase Halsey used to hack Roland and look for John during Spartan Ops.

I hope halo posts more audiobooks like this to UKposts. I’ll happily cut down on my subscriptions and enjoy the great halo content 343 has been lovingly crafting. (Except the halo show, that was… a grevious mistake)

I just came to the realization.. the Flood now knows how to breach and overwrite Mjolnir power armor, it shares it's memories via collected consciousness.. We know it got away too.. and that it knows how to wait.. remember the forerunner flood war? Needless to say, the universe going forward has become a very dangerous place.

the way the ending is written makes me think that the flood spartan 1 is still conscious but cant do anything to stop what's happening and 2 survived being nuked and making it off the site which is even more terrifying.

I do wonder were the Idea of Spartans being immune to flood infection came from given how the forerunners and ancient humanity ground forces (Who possess far more refined augmentation technology) were just as easily infected by the flood.
