Hello! This is a brief comparison about hamsters (and such) through the Sims series. I know they're not all hamsters but I had to pick a title and Guinea Pigs sounds too formal lol
These tiny creatures are things I rarely have in the sims tbh, I had one irl but his death was so dumb I could never bring myself to have another one so it was interesting seeing all of these and getting to know each. I forgot to test them with other animals so I hope nothing major was missing

Sims 1 was kinda solid, I cracked up visiting the 3D model thinking I'd find a recognizable rodent and got a bunch of 3D lines instead, I dislike not seeing the guinea pig but as far as functions go it's okay, I love how this started the inclusion of a rodent sickness and it wasn't revisited until Sims 4 so you know they were doing their homework
Sims 2 I love the actions they included for the hamster, like trying to escape the cage, longing for someone to approach and I like the detail of having various colors, this is the only one where you have many options about color
Sims 3 was nice, it felt a bit limited but it I liked the inclusion of more rodents (even tho 1 of those was not even a rodent lol) and I liked how they can be found outside and if you set them free it'll be outside. What kind of person sets a pet free inside??? Like good luck in the kitchen
Sims 4 was also good, I liked the inclusion of new critters like that duck thing and the fact that they can have all kinds of shenanigans going on inside the cage, made them feel very much alive and as I've said before, I like the rodent fever inclusion because it's a little thing which encourages you to keep an eye on them.
So for me it'd be Sims 4 then the rest. I guess some people won't like hamsters feeling this cartooney but I enjoy Maxis thinking outside the box. But that's just my opinion, let me know yours and I'll see you on the nest one! I wanted to make one more video before the year ends but there's family visiting already and I'm not sure I'll have as much time but let's see.
