I see comments here that mimic my own feelings at 70 years old. I too have crippled hands, neuropothy, and all the other niceties that come with hard labor and standing at a job for 30 years or more. I used to love welding and buit many things including chassis. I now have a pacemaker too, which does not allow me to weld safely. The talents of this machinist are truly amazing, a gift from above. Gentlemen your gifts are just as great. Bless you all.

I got a question. What do you think of games that have a vehicle in them? I'm asking what's your opinion on how realistic they are. You can search some games on youtube and see how the cars are there.
@joshuareiley98532 роки тому
I am happy to see your comment sir. Sorry that your hands are crippled...it's a shame that as such a sophisticated specimen that we are...we tend to begin to lose our mobility and such just as we are getting to prime if you will. I have worked most of my life, which I mostly enjoy...so has my father. He is just at the age for retirement...he was laid off during the beginning of Covid 2020...but since has retired (64/65) because he is losing his eye sight and it is unrepairable. It disgusts me that a person can go their whole life working...only to lose one of the only freedoms he would have for being able to retire. Enjoyment is also a good word there. I can't even imagine. I have seen it get progressively worse...it's incredibly saddening.

I had 44 years in the trade. Now I'm crippled. Sold all my tools. I can't even turn a wrench anymore. I had a lot of fun and built some amazing stuff. My friend built a flathead Ford aluminum block. The raw kit and castings were $500 in the 70's. It put out 5 HP. The spark plugs were so tiny.

@@Mike383HK I have a workshop filled with tools including both a good sized lathe, a milling machine, welders and etc. For decades I supplemented my 48 hours a week regular job by repairing cars....mostly installing engines where they didn't belong. Now, the tools sit in my shop and haven't been used much in years. More and more I find I want to do the things in life that I really enjoy, like watching youtube videos and touring via my motorcycle. Going to ride my bike to Pike's Peak in a couple of months, just as soon as I return from Argentina to view my 10th total solar eclipse. Wanna join me?

@@Mike383HK Sorry to hear that, Mike. People who can create items with their hands are a rare breed. I specialized in installing engines in places where they didn't belong and often had to create ways (and parts) for doing it. One smart thing I did was create a cleaning station so I didn't have to breathe the fumes. Another....I'm one of the few who never had to quit smoking because I never started....anything! I'm still in relatively good health....just avoid working on cars unless I must. You know the story....the mechanics car is often the worst! No matter how many cars I repaired, there were always several waiting....besides my full time 40 hr a week job. I worked a lot of graveyard shifts, so I had the daytime open. If I had it to do over again, I would have charged much more and worked less. My favorite personal car....I found an abandoned 1954 Kaiser 2 door sedan (only 150 made) and installed a 65 Pontiac 389 bored .060 over to make it a 401. I drove that car all over the western USA, surprised many and always put a smile on my face. Now, I want to spend what time I have left doing what I really enjoy....like riding my motorcycle and chasing solar eclipses......going to Argentina in about three weeks for the next eclipse...my 10th and my 2nd wife's 4th. Then, I'm riding my motorcycle on a 4000 mile trip to visit my younger brother in northern Idaho and then down to Roswell, NM to tour the UFO museum. (BHE.....Mel)

Somehow, I went from tiny highly advanced mini motors...some made by machines and modified manually...to entirely man made motors with manually operated machines....to this video...which appears to possibly have been manually made...with a twist of FINE nostalgia. Absolutely beautiful engineering sir... I love the valve train and double cams... a large cylinder with hydraulic fluid... the size of your cam followers on the lifters, a line up to the rockers and a smaller cylinder on top of a bucket like Jaguar or Alfa and Ferrari use on the valves... and you have a very uncomplicated hydraulic lifter... Renault used little short lifters... in the old 1600 and 1300 engines... back when I was an apprentice... in the dark ages before unleaded gasoline It's a work of art... thanks for sharing
@richardcarew47083 роки тому
If you want to make it go fast... I have been thinking about magnetic valves... with neodymium spheres instead of the mushrooms with valve guides and heavy duty springs... it will require a solenoid for each port into and out of the combustion chamber... it will actually close much faster and provide more swirl to the fuel air mixture... and it requires less than 10% of the energy cams and valve springs rob from the power you develop... I have a metal that forms at very high temperature, and pressure... it's melting point is 1768° C.. it's got covalent bonds... double double covalent bonds .. rather than metallic bonds... it's 10 on the Moh's scale of hardness... like diamond... it's not rare... and not hard to find... it's absolutely ubiquitous, wherever you live... you, and everyone on Planet Earth have access to AuPt... gold platinum alloy... in greater quantity than all the gold and platinum ever mined in our current civilization... I can fill Ft Knox 3 times a day... practically forever... and you do too... each of us here on Planet Earth 🌏... it's a gift... from my family to your family 👪 Ad Infinitum AuPt will set us FREE The double double covalent bonds create a room temperature superconductor.... and it should be big fun in the machine shop, because it can be used as is... and machined like steel or aluminum... 1768° is not easy to get to... most other metals are vaporized at that temperature... a superconductor with double double covalent bonds does not pass electricity... it appears to magnify magnetic fields... and I use a small magnet on top of a flat piece of AuPt and it holds a much larger magnet on the bottom .. of a stone that is not very magnet at all... Au and Pt are not magnetic by themselves... but Au has one more proton electron pair than Pt... the difference creates a magnetic field... and they line up in perfect little rows and columns... because both atoms are, mas o menus, the same size... it's cubic structure is present throughout the entire stone... and it appears to be a 3 dimensional checkerboard... Au and Pt align with N and S... through the whole stone.... it's 5 orders of magnitude harder than sapphire and ruby... 10,000 times harder than aluminum oxide... it's extremely dense and has a specific gravity of 20.. between gold at 19... and platinum at 21...
@richardcarew47083 роки тому
Starfirediamondmines@gmail.com It's slightly magnetic... and could be used for the valve seats;;☆》... and never wear out... it's impossible to scratch... even with a diamond 💎 Au and Pt are both "diamagnetic"... they create an opposing force to an applied magnetic field.... I am pretty sure it is what real starships use... because we cannot do it with the current firecracker up the arse method used today... with magnetic energy we can bend space-time... and it doesn't require ftl travel... when we bend space-time, the distance between stars becomes, effectively ==>>zero

With over 1 million views, nobody has asked why the camshafts spin at crankshaft speed, and not half crank speed, like all 4 strokes do. The gearing shows 1:1 ratio. Gentleman clearly has an engineering/jeweller background. Very nice work.
@turnerfleet3966Рік тому
i think it’s a pneumatic engine because it doesn’t have spark plugs or a carburetor so it can’t be gasoline, it doesn’t have a carburetor or glow plugs so it can’t be nitro, and it can’t be a diesel because it has no injectors. the line also doesn’t have liquid in it from what it looks like, so is probably air, that would be why the cam is 1:1 with the crank because it has 2 strokes, one valve to let the air in to push the the piston down on the first stroke and the other to let it out on the second.
