Tbh Harvey is a great young player, he's 19 but he's got quite a lot of exp in the pl at his age + he's pretty good technically, passing, dribbling, vision, shooting and finishing, the only big thing he lacks is physicality and speed, but his other traits make it up, including workrate and attitude. If he continues to improve on all fronts he can be an important player for us now and the future. I think he's been more than solid for his age at this level this season for us. Well done Harvey, keep it up!

Well tbh he has no choice but to step it up this year he'll be needed and Jones to. If they prove themselves this year the future great for them.

Hes not a winger. Hes absolutely a mezzala type midfielder and is going to be a bloody good one too. Him and Diaz were our best players before the WC. Super exciting talent, has been since he got in the team. Press proof, insane ball retention, pass accuracy and range. Great finishing too. The new system suits him, him and szobo rotating the right sided 8 position is going to be sick. I don't get the hate in him at all, he gets scapegoated by people who don't know ball 🤦♂️ Reminds me a lot of the rat Bernardo, who unfortunately, is a baller.

Harvey Elliot is a mezzala type midfielder at Liverpool BUT he’s an average mezzala type midfielder. Whereas he’s one of the best traditional CAM classic No 10 right now. His balance, his passing, perfect No 10. But the thing is the classic No 10 “stay forward and be creative” position has gone obsolete at top level. No 10s must be well rounded now like Debruyne, Bruno who can put in shifts defensively and get in behind like a striker. Coaches know this, Klopp knows this and I’m guessing it’s why Klopp hates the 4-2-3-1, the players know it too and so Elliot is trying to disguise to be what he’s not lol just to get playing time as Mazzarela. Liverpool allow it because it suits FSG stingy nature. Elliot is a weak link in midfield or wing at top level but gold as CAM like Shaqiri. Even at his prime 9/10 games Szobo starts over Elliot at Liverpool just by being taller not to talk about physicality, interception and all that. Only way I see Elliot becoming an important mezzala for Liverpool is if he somehow improves his top speed, jumping, aggression and interception. Then yeah. Even if we miraculously played 4-2-3-1 I still wouldn’t recommend Elliot in CAM because he’s not well rounded today’s CAM. I’d rather have Gakpo there. The only traditional “stay forward and chill” No 10 at top level right now is Messi and even that ended some weeks back.

You should remember he turned 20 in April. This is his first 1st team regular season after the season ending injury. Elliot has a potential to be very good player, with an amazing mentality. You should follow this kids journey. He will get better and better.

@@ta3won2 I love Harvey Elliot and I watch him a lot but I’m speaking as a retired coach and I’m being analytical. My point is that the window is small for Harvey at Liverpool. He will flourish as a CAM somewhere else but not as a midfielder at current Liverpool. Elliot is somewhat like Harry Wilson but Klopp didn’t want him. I know he’s young and plenty room to develop. He can work on his passing and dribbling but he can’t grow taller, meaning he can’t get physical enough, even his pace, with training can increase by just little and that’s not enough to play midfield/winger/ inside forward at Liverpool. He shouldn’t even be starting at all.

I kinda agree with your opinion but at the same time I wish he fits into the Liverpool because he always shows his love to the club. I do not know whether you ever heard and watch the player Kang-in Lee, the U-20 golden ball winner who recently joined PSG. The reason of his success last season at Mallorca was because his pace got better, after he gained muscle at age 22. Lets see what is waiting ahead of this wonder kid. Although his current ability seems not right fit at the Liverpool tactics, he has right mentality and strong desire to success. He will get better. Thanks for your opinion and feedbacks btw

@@ozzythestunner Agreed, has about 2 more seasons to fit in otherwise it is time for the club to cash in on him and I say this as a big fan of his, i'm sure he will be great at a club which uses a traditional #10

You know who Elliott reminds me of here; David Silva. Yes the latter is obviously a PL leg, but Harvey's not even close. Yet the way he operates with not much speed going forward or back, yet having a good attititude, if he improves on all fronts goal scoring, technical, passing, from range, in the box, fks, dribbling, vision, etc, he's really sort of like a David Silva w that left foot of his. Not saying he can't pick or pass or shoot w his right, we've seen him do it.

Give him time. Curtis is 22 and has just shown his first real extended run of good form. Harvey will do the same soon enough.

He's gotta improve his defensive output like everybody is saying because he's playing at a very sensible spot in our team which is the right side midfield, a spot that was perfected by Henderson thanks to his incredible workrate which allows him to both defend the right side midfield and cover for the defensively inept Trent .. we saw how a past his prime Henderson affected out team. Harvey plays like a winger but lacks the speed and the mobility of a modern winger, he can be a top player for most english team but if he wants to stick with us, then he needs to up his game like Curtis did and hopefully keep doing it.

He does have the tools, except the physique (he can only be a squad player). His decision making in the last third is wanting. How often did Liverpool manage to break down a bus-packing opponent? He can probably learn from the two new midfielders joining Liverpool this year.

Harvey Elliot’s only crime is being our best CAM but the worst type of CAM. He has so much potential but not at Liverpool. He’s a Shaqiri type CAM, (more technical than gritty)and on the flanks, Klopp’s Liverpool uses inside forwards or at least wingers with pace who also have to have decent track back/press. Only way I see Elliot becoming important winger/inside forward for Liverpool is If somehow, he gains pace overnight. As a midfielder at Liverpool, he’s a weak link. Football at top level these days doesn’t allow for the traditional technical No 10 CAM like Ozil or Shaq. You must be well rounded. Bruno, Debruyne, Mount all can put in good shifts defensively and get in behind like a striker. I know it’s harsh but Elliot’s level is maybe West Ham where they’re defensive and need a CAM to not really be defensive but to dribble past 1-2 players and razzle dazzle to release the final pass because the rest players are stiff for defending lol

U don't let a talent like Harvey leave when he has not even reached his peak. He is still young and can develop other aspects of his game defensively, so we must write him off yet as a Liverpool just because he lacks defensively

@@luckykagiso4380 It's not about the player, it's about the tactics. Harry Wilson, fine player but similar to Elliot had to go because he just doesn't fit. Same for Shaq and Minamino but really I hope he somehow grows into an important player for Liverpool. He shows spirit when he plays.

He has the potential, but he’s too easy to push off the ball. Overall he’s a great player to watch play.

That’s the only down side and even then he’s only had a few bad games due to his physicality he has done incredible in most games

@@MrAloo17 Plus he's just a kid. Why do people expect all round perfection from a 19/20 year old? Especially physically. He's got plenty of time to get stronger, wiser and like you say he's done well. Great technique and an amazing amount of experience for his age. I'm certainly pleased with him and yes he has things to improve on. Obviously.

His creativity shines every ONCE in a while but he is terrible for the team because bro cannot possess the ball even if his life is on the damn line. Easily dispossessed, his paper thin physicality makes him such an easy target for defenders, cannot win the ball back. This the biggest difference between him and curtis. When Curtis is pressed he can keep the ball and potentially(all though rare) move the ball forward while Harvey just can't. His defensive actions achieves nothing and what's funny is that after getting disposessed he is too slow to return to defense on time. Sure he may look like the best play maker in highlights but the losses of having him start far outways his meager contribution. When you look up the stats and graphs Elliot is on rock bottom in practically any statistics involving defense and possessions. He is a good boy no doubt but he doesn't belong. Especially considering the fact that his off the ball movements overlaps TOO MUCH with Salah impedeing our ace's influence and actions. Anyone who knows ball will understand how Elliots off the ball movements leeched off of Salah and Trent the beginning of the 22 23 season and how much it negatively affected their performance

@@MgilangAP Keeping the ball is better than losing it. Besides his vision and tempo has improved slightly near the end of the last season making it one of the reasons why Jurgen started Curtis. Also I've seen Elliot hold the ball 2~3 touches too long before passing(Especially during counter attacks) as well way too many times making his offensive contributions even more insufficient. I'm not saying Curtis is just great he still has much flaws to fix but at the current state he is miles more solid than Elliot ever was. Curtis might not be the best starter but he is a decent squad player while Elliot is not even on that level. At least Curtis is not inflicting massive losses to the team goal just by starting

@@luckykagiso4380 lol I think YOU think football is like FIFA. This isn't the 70s anymore this is MODERN football where every player has to contribute to the defense SOMEHOW. Whether it's the press or forming lines or recoveries but Harvey does NONE of it. None. Look up any graph involving defensive contributions Harvey is at the ROCK BOTTOM of the premier league. Don't you get it? Harvey ain't no Messi or Mbappe we can't let him just pass for not defending(He tries but he is just so horrid at it) The only place Elliot could survive even the slighest is to play him as a side playmaker kinda like David Slilva where his lack of contribution is slightly less noticable but that would mean benching Salah or playing him as a striker. But Harvey isn't David Silva. Silva can get himself out of the press while Harvey cannot. I'm not trying to hate on him. I know he loves this team but at the current state he does not belong. Maybe you should think about why Jurgen didn't play him at all towards the end of the season

U ignoring the fact that when he plays he always performance even before the world cup our best players was him and diaz with everyone struggling to find form in his first season playing midfield from right wing. The man will develop his defensive game with time and stop making assumptions like he in his prime
