The highest court in New York ruled that the trial judge made a mistake in allowing testimony that included "uncharged, alleged prior sexual acts." It's not expected Weinstein will be set free immediately from the prison in Rome, New York, where he is incarcerated. He was sentenced to 16 years in California for a separate rape conviction. However, that case is also being appealed on the same grounds as New York.

He's most likely guilty but he didn't get a fair trial when you have testimony from other witnesses that never accused him of any sexual assault. That's the fault of the prosecution. That's why NYC have district attorneys that work not for justice but for fame, money, and recognition.

For the record, he's not going to be released immediately. What is most likely going to happen is, since he allegedly didn't have a fair trial, they'll have to give him a new one. With a new judge and a new jury. And he's still gotta serve time in California for similar convictions and that has yet to be overturned

He's not free yet; they will most likely go for a retrial. And there's still the California sentence he needs to serve which still hasn't been appealed. So even if the retrial says 'not guilty' he will still have to go to California to serve time.

Good question. I just saw another clip explaining the trial. And in there it said that the prosecution knowingly broke the court rule to gamble and break the defense arguments and evidences that the sex was consensual.
