If they follow his comics story line at all, he's going to end up getting becoming an Avenger, getting killed by Kang, getting resurrected, and then marrying Mantis, so you've got that to look forward to.

I also like the fact that he does indeed try to be a good (maybe a bit questionable) stepfather for Kate. Protecting her and also calling her sweety. It's just really. Nice.

I wasn’t scared for her, I also felt the “what the hell!” Yelena was just redirecting Kate the whole time, Kate then slapped her even though Yelena didn’t actually hurt her in any way.

It’s a pretty classic trope, the person who were out to blame from the first episode (ie the obvious suspect) is never gonna be the real villain. Still, I think it was executed pretty well, and his character is likeable so I’m all for it.

These kinds of one-off male-female story dynamics (one the experience-damaged hero and the other an innocent yet very optimistic person) tend to bring out the best of shows, etc. The Last of Us and the Walking Dead games had some of the best character development for a father-child relationship also.

He still had some Lalo Salamanca stuck in him.

People don't understand that for some reason. Yelena could have smoked Kate at any point. Since she became her own person, It wasn't her nature to hurt someone who wasn't her target. Plus, she had a solid big sister vibe going. Plus, I don't even think she was fully committed to killing Barton. She wanted to confront him but if she really wanted him dead, she would not have wasted so much time talking with him. She was just angry about Natasha's death and so long as she could blame Barton, she could avoid dealing with it.

I compare it to and uncle or dad wrestling with kids.

@@rowdeemunkee Yup. The part that really drives it home is Kate's face. Yelena is the first person on the show that she was really scared of. She knew Yelena could take her out fairly quick if she went too far.
