Here is a recording of Pink Floyd performing their show "The Wall" In Earl's Court on August 8th and 9th 1980. I have spent time restoring the video footage to get the best video and audio quality possible. Please do not reupload this as I have spent a good amount of time on this.

When you play by ear it only gets better the more you play theory can only get you so close the rest you have to just feel that only comes after years of trial & error skills fade, but experience never leaves. Dark side will probably always be my favourite album, fuck if The Wall for all the term oil they were going through Gilmore & Wright really did write some of the best music & Waters lyrics were never better. Love & hate with that album you that album broke them up & started endless feuds with us in the fan base, but fuck me if that isn't one of the best albums ever. I understand those who put Wish you Were Here over it, but once I became honest with myself that really is my second favourite album. Wish they would have played "Run Like Hell." The last reunion
@darrenschannels
@darrenschannels 3 роки тому
I go back and forth constantly between which is my favorite album. I don’t really understand the whole “David vs Roger” feud in the fan base honestly. To me it’s very clear that it was the stark contrast between the two that gave us that incredibly unique Pink Floyd “sound” that no other band comes close to. David is very mellow, Roger is angry with a chip on his shoulder. Put them together and you get the best rock music of the 20/21st century. Pink Floyd wouldn’t have produced our favorite songs and albums without David...and Pink Floyd wouldn’t have produced our favorite songs and albums without Roger. It’s really that simple. Gilmour is the greatest singer and guitarist of all time...and Roger is the greatest lyricist of all time. Put them together and you get Pink Floyd. I absolutely love them both.

@georgesonm1774
@georgesonm1774 Рік тому
@@NolanEgbert It kind of was - and it wasn't. Probably it was also inevitable that they would amp up the theatrics at some point (talking both about the concerts themselves and the whole concept of The Wall as opposed to the more musically oriented albums like WYWH), since Roger took the leadership and since they became frustrated by playing big stadiums and so on. It's not surprising that Gilmour-led Floyd never went for the stage effects to that degree (not sure, they might have had the big screen and the flying pig but I think that's that). But the whole theater vs. music debate only goes to show the abunance of talent and ideas they had within the band, to the point that one can imagine alternative directions they could have (and likely with artistic success) taken at different points in their career. I personally like the Pompeii-era Floyd best, up until probably Wish You Were Here, as there was balance between the concept and the music, and space for input from each of the band members

I went into our little bitty PX and in the cds was a live recording of The Wall live at Earl’s court. The cd was actually called Is There Anybody Out There. Now keep in mind UKposts didn’t exist so finding videos like this one. I found an online store in England and the guy ripped the videos himself so I didn’t feel safe buying. So here I am 17 years later and I finally get to see it. So stoked. Now in 2017 my wife got me tickets for my birthday to see Roger Waters do the Wall live and it was definitely a bucket list moment.

There's a lot of really good footage from these shows that Roger will just never release. August 6-9, 1980, was recorded on very good videotape, and the footage you see here is a 4th Generation VHS of them. There's a good amount of snippets from the master in Behind The Wall. June 13-17, 1981, were recorded on film, and there's a very small amount of snippets of them, but they still exist. The most notable of these is the one found on the Immersion boxset, with the far shots being from the June 1981 films, but the closeups of the band were done in a sound stage.

I'm honestly surprised nobody has done this yet. It's great to have some improved footage for the most famous Pink Floyd bootleg in history, but I think the general boost to the higher frequencies introduces extra hiss and noise.
