Really? He looked about as awkward as a person can look, as if he had never held or played with a child before. Diana, on the other hand, was a complete natural, as if she HAD held and played with children before. Charles did his duty. I think if he had his way, he would not have had children at ALL, but he knew he HAD to in order to secure the succession. He's not a natural father. Even Prince Phillip was more hands on and fun-loving than Charles was. But, you keep living in denial. Diana was the one who had the kids most of the time, the one who went out and did things with them like a normal parent, had a normal bond and connection with her children, and clearly loved them to bits. What exactly did Charles do to show any affection towards those boys when the cameras weren't around? Not a whole lot. The boys love him as he is their father, obviously, but they never had the same kind of bond as they had with their mother. That tells you VOLUMNS about his parenting abilities. He always, always looked awkward as Hell when he had to hold them or play with them. For crying out loud, when William was born and they were leaving the hospital, Charles held his newborn son for about a MINUTE before handing him back to Diana. Surely she was exhausted, sore, and could've used a rest, but he couldn't be bothered to cuddle his new baby more than a MINUTE for the press. Wake up. Just because he's King now doesn't mean his past behavior can be colored over or painted in a new light.

Oh, sure he did. That's why it looked like torture to him when he had to pretend to play with them or hold them. Most of the time, it was Diana doing all of that because she actually knew HOW and knew how to bond and connect with children. Charles is a man who clearly does not understand real love, only instant gratification and lust. He confuses that with "love". World of difference. He's also a man very accustomed to getting exactly what he wants and it's easy to see through situations that he doesn't want to be in and feels is beneath him. Open your eyes and stop the royal boot licking.

Had none of that happened and Charles had been willing to sacrifice lust for the sake of his JOB, then all of them would still be together. He couldn't do it. He HAD to have Camilla. And he certainly cared more about HER than he did his real wife and children. Diana was the one who had the kids most of the time, she was the one who did normal parental things with them while Charles was off talking to plants or wishing he was Camilla's tampon. Essentially, she was a single mother from the moment those boys were born. Quite unfair to her to be used for breeding purposes, like a horse. Charles treated her like dirt. That's why the tragic things happened the way they did. Even the Queen said he was "hopeless" in terms of changing.
