Probably the most beleivable summation of the feeling Inside Russia, 20% Support Putin, 30% dont and the other 50% want to be left alone. On a human level that feels so right.

I was lucky enough to have her as my Master's Thesis advisor. Obviously a wealth of wisdom, but she's also an incredibly kind and warm person.

Profound sadness for the Russians and Ukrainians that want none of this but have NO CHOICE. It's heartbreaking. They are ppl just like us.

Have not been a CNN fan over the past 8 years. This type of fact reporting is what I appreciate. We don’t need the vitriol.

My sister-in-law is Russian. I have family and friends in both Russia and Ukraine. This woman is absolutely right. The level of despair/denial in Russia right now is unreal. Most people are either terrified or literally cannot accept what's happening. As in they believe everything is fake news and that no one is actually dying and it's all just a drill. The Russian people are sad and confused and most of them don't support Putin one bit. They just want peace. Scarily, I've also lost contact with one of my friends in Ukraine. She hasn't responded to any of her social media in two months and no one can get ahold of her family. Update: My friend and her family are alive! They have left Ukraine and are currently making their way to Germany.

Wow! How ironic. One of the most incredibly well spoken English speaking Russians I've ever heard. Probably the best insight into what is currently the psychological atmosphere in Russia. Wow ! How ironic ! With all due respect, this lady is the offspring from the guy who expressed himself at the United Nations by slapping his shoe on the podium. I know I'm going out on a limb, but I'd say of the two she's a better communicator. I agree with everyone . Would love to hear her speak more.

What an accurate way of describing the average russian citizen situation: "Despair"... "No future".

A couple weeks ago, there were a pair of Russian people who showed up on the shores of Alaska here. Their reason was to avoid the draft. When you cross the Bearing Straight to avoid your government, that also says something.

Way too short. This woman has so much to tell us and teach us. PLEASE have her back soon!

More of her please. So smart, informative. Less of media needing to apply a simple label to people? “Is Putin rational?” Seems just a question to create a headline, not one to elicit useful info. She batted that away quick. And the interviewers take “ok, some of both.” Not sure he got her response on irrelevance of question.

Respect she has a good feel on what's going on ... better than media speculation and over hype sending out messages of worry 😟

Let me break it down for you: You think she was good here? This is nothing. She's a mesmerising lecturer. She has this magical gift of presenting truckloads of detailed, complex information in a way that makes sense, is easy to understand, & stays in your memory. CNN should give her a regular slot.

I so appreciate her take. Orwellian-that’s the perfect adjective, I think. I’ve long felt the Russian people as a whole, don’t want this, and I can’t imagine what it must be like for good Russian people who are just stuck.

This lady is very well informed. I am German and grew up during the cold War period with Germany divided in two parts and the horrible frontier in the middle of our country. Russians and all citizens of the East who belonged to Udssr were closed as in a prison. No free speech, no jeans, no long hair, no rock music, no coca cola, no free traveling, no western radio or TV because it came from the so much hated West. Then came Gorbaciov and we had so much hope for a changing process in Russia, but since 2000 when Putin arrived Russia moved back to Udssr hehaviours and the Lady says it very well it is like George Orwell 2022.

She is very interesting to listen too.

The 1st CNN story/interview I've seen in a loooooooong time that's logical and well articulated.

I saw (more than 10 years ago) that Crimea was offered to Ukraine to "compensate" for the Politburo's refusal to go ahead with a development plan for Ukraine because it was already known that there was gas, oil, rare materials that Nikita Khrushchev presented at the time (apparently, Russia was afraid of competition within Soviet Slavery ! Has Nina Khrushcheva ever heard of this plan? Some Russian critics said Putinoquio invaded Ukraine to avoid Ukraine could be a big competitor and that reminded me that video a I saw.
