Probably the most beleivable summation of the feeling Inside Russia, 20% Support Putin, 30% dont and the other 50% want to be left alone. On a human level that feels so right.
@CodeLife_12Рік тому
Indeed. During wars, unless their town is being invaded, most people just want to be left alone. Geopolitics is just not that interesting to someone who works as a mechanic from 9 to 5 and has family to care of, hobbies, etc. The majority of people have their own problems and don't care what their leader's goals are.

Most people are either terrified or literally cannot accept what's happening. As in they believe everything is fake news and that no one is actually dying and it's all just a drill. The Russian people are sad and confused and most of them don't support Putin one bit. They just want peace. Scarily, I've also lost contact with one of my friends in Ukraine. She hasn't responded to any of her social media in two months and no one can get ahold of her family. Update: My friend and her family are alive! She batted that away quick. And the interviewers take “ok, some of both.” Not sure he got her response on irrelevance of question.
@cjohnson3836Рік тому
It wasn't irrelevant though and she didn't "bat" it away. The interviewer didn't understand her answer, and neither do you. The crux of her argument is that it is a matter of worldviews and philosophical paradigms. Putin's apparent irrationality to us is due to viewing through the bias of our own worldviews. This is important because it is the fundamental failure of Putin, as well. His miscalculations are due to operating by a set of logic principles that are not applicable to a large amount of the rest of the world.
@antcantcook960Рік тому
Seems like a post just to criticize the media with the the thinnest of evicdence. Notice you don’t really speak on the actual substance of her comments, very telling.

@@cjohnson3836 He is caught up in his own 'groupthink' paradigm. God help us all.
@cjohnson3836Рік тому
@@andymoore9977 This statement doesn't really mean anything. Every group, be your social group or the bureaucracy of a nation, has its own internal structure and operating procedures. How that bureaucracy then interacts at various scales with those other groups that have different procedures and structure is what we call geopolitics. The entire point is that the protocols by which Putin, and really, Russian governance for a century now, operate is not suitable for its interactions with the rest of the world. The thing is, we have a whole lot in our own nations' structure we can argue the same.
@chicagoviking1Рік тому
@@cjohnson3836 So, I am not anti-media. I just think sometimes the media wants to simplify issues by applying categories/labels (just as other or many people do by calling someone a "lib" or whatever) -- Interviewer sets up first question as "Biden says Putin rational. Macron says he is irrational. Why is this an important question?" Her first response "It's not that important" (batting away this question of labeling Putin) and then she goes on to give a more substantive response based on Putin's background and so on. How much is she being paid for that ugly propaganda I wonder

I could listen to this lady for hours. Very realist and nuanced report on the state of things in Russia.
@alexandrfedotov6791Рік тому
How do you know? What made you write realistic. Teach me how to judge 100 + cultural country without knowing its languages, history, traditions. Without trying to walk in "their shoes"? We get why she can - she paid to say that, but why you mate? Is it brainwash? Why are you so arrogant? Journalist have to present objectively the case from at least two sides and let the viewers to decide. The presentation of the problem should be based objective things like economics, history, interactions within, interactions outside, major players and their interests, but no all comes to "too crazy or not so crazy" how dump is that! Shame on you for your simplicity.
@unknownprofit3553Рік тому

@wandasetzer1469Рік тому
@@alexandrfedotov6791 No, journalists do not have to present all sides. Most journalism is slanted. If you don't realize that, shame on you for your simplicity.

@@alexandrfedotov6791 A journalist present facts in an envelope of standpoint and attitude. It’s always the case. There’s always a bias, and you are indeed crying about something not achievable - with thorough analysis you’d need hours, not an interview minutes short. On the other hand, Russian media do not even attempt to be objective.

@paulblichmann2791Рік тому
Pshhh, it's in America where you MUST say 2+2=5. In Russia there's just a couple things you can't say, and anything goes beyond that.
@omnamahshivayaitaly8429Рік тому
This lady is very well informed. I am German and grew up during the cold War period with Germany divided in two parts and the horrible frontier in the middle of our country. Russians and all citizens of the East who belonged to Udssr were closed as in a prison. No free speech, no jeans, no long hair, no rock music, no coca cola, no free traveling, no western radio or TV because it came from the so much hated West. Then came Gorbaciov and we had so much hope for a changing process in Russia, but since 2000 when Putin arrived Russia moved back to Udssr hehaviours and the Lady says it very well it is like George Orwell 2022.

Yeah... You are free. That's why soon you wont have future. Why? Just because you will be swiped off because of your freedom. Explain: A) you dont have future because of lgbtq. 2 men or 2 women cant bring a birth, dear. 😄 B) because of your (nato) invasions all will run to Europe. They will remove your nation; C) upcoming 2-3 years 20% of your nation will die due to sanctions that you have put against yourself 😂. From cold, from starving. 🤣 I can keep go on, mate. Good luck, and dont come with your begging to Russia later on.

She is not a government official or Oligarch or a political opponent. Those people and those who betray Putin are the ones he usually goes after. He would probably have them give her something to make her very sick if he had the chance but Putin usually only murders people who check the boxes I listed above. I almost forgot another box which is Ukrainian women and children Putin has been murdering lots of them lately since his troops cannot win on the battlefield.

I saw (more than 10 years ago) that Crimea was offered to Ukraine to "compensate" for the Politburo's refusal to go ahead with a development plan for Ukraine because it was already known that there was gas, oil, rare materials that Nikita Khrushchev presented at the time (apparently, Russia was afraid of competition within Soviet Slavery ! Has Nina Khrushcheva ever heard of this plan? Some Russian critics said Putinoquio invaded Ukraine to avoid Ukraine could be a big competitor and that reminded me that video a I saw.

Simply put, Journalism believes that it is speaking to unintelligent or uninformed people. They simply need to update their procedures. The average investor reads or at least scans about 10 different newspapers a day to get a world perspective since the advent of the internet.
