I'm 74 years old and I didn't know this song existed until just recently. It is one THE best songs I have ever heard - there was some great music in the sixties and seventies - how did I miss this? It's so powerful and grabs at my heartstrings every time. I put my ear buds in and ramp up the volume and just get lost❤❤❤

In my teens, 20s and 30s, my Dad and I didn't get that along that well. He did some things that really upset me. He said some things that hurt me to my core. But he came from such a traumatic upbringing, it's no surprise he took on some of those negative behaviors (from his own parents). We're now close. He's 71 years old and has heart disease. I don't know how much longer he has. I have two brain tumors myself and don't know how much longer I have either. I guess none of us really know how much time we have left. I'm not close with my mom anymore, which leaves me heartbroken every day. I wish, hope, and pray for that relationship to get better. To heal. For her to show me that love again. The love she showed me when I was young. I want to have my mom back... before it's too late. I love you so much, Mom. I love you so much, Dad. Always and forever. My parents were teens/early 20’s in the 80’s and that’s the decade that they really stuck in since it was so formative for them. They had us in the early 90’s and my entire childhood was filled with 80’s music, movies, etc. I’ve never met anyone who lived in the 80’s that didn’t absolutely love everything about it. Decades then were like a breath of fresh air, new exciting music and clothes. Everything blends together now

My first crush was this guy I met in high school. He was really popular and always surrounded by his friends so it made it impossible to talk to him. We only ever talked at least a handful of times in over a year but we had a strong chemistry. I remember listening to this song all the time just wishing his friends wouldn't be there to treat me like crap and I could talk to him. There was a graduation party about 4 years after I met him and I dressed up for a bonfire they had outside. I remember telling my parents just to give me 5 more minutes before we had to go and I found him by himself standing by the corn field next to the bonfire and it was dark. His friends already left. I told him everything and since then we've been together for years.

When you realize there will never be an era like this again :(

This song always makes me misty-eyed. Back when I got out of university back in 2015, I had to stay with my girlfriend in her dorm room, because the person leasing the apartment I was supposed to go hadn't left yet. So for 5 months, I was "homeless", living with my girlfriend. We are both Bulgarian, living in Germany. And those 5 months were absolutely lovely. We grew much closer. We didn't see each other day, we were together every single day. One day I was getting out of the shower and my girlfriend had this playing. We both love rock and roll, I was 24 at the time and she was 21. She gave me a smile that said it all. We didn't have sex that night... we made love. I had never felt closer to a woman. I felt her warmth, her love and feminine embrace. It was an absolutely magical moment I will never forget. She was the only woman I had opened up to fully and she understood me. Sadly a few years later we split, because she flunked her exams and had to switch university... Not too bad you'd say, except the only university nearby where she could continue was in Vienna, Austria. I had my own issues, climbing up the corporate ladder. We drifted apart. I still love her... I've had other girlfriends I tried to talk with her and reignite the old flame and a part of it is still burning, but she wants me to move in with her, in Vienna. I want to move back to Bulgaria and she doesn't. Sounds corny, but it's just one of those love stories that wasn't meant to be... I'm being honest, if I go to her in Austria and start everything from scratch again and deal with the same issues I've dealt in Germany... I'll probably end up dead, or an alcoholic. I don't want that. I have found my path and sadly it strays from hers. But I will always remember her, this song and her gentle touch. She made me feel intense and boundless love. Every time I hear this song, I think of her.
