I've always been impressed with how super fast a Chinook is. The Chinook is perhaps one of the most useful helicopters ever made, and I've been blessed with having rode in many of them during my Army days.

I love all sounds of commercial Jets. Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, Bombardier, Cessna, Beechcraft, Extra Aircraft, etc. And also all Helicopters. Especially the Chinook & Blackhawk

When I was in Vietnam the Chinook would set down and the gun crew for the howitzer would run up inside. Then it would move over to the howitzer where someone would hook up the sling for that. There was also a large cargo net attached to the howitzer. The Chinook would lift off with us inside, the howitzer slung under it and the cargo net hanging below with 16 rounds of ammunition, and 200 pounds of powder. When we got to the destination, the Chinook would lower until the cargo net with ammo touched down, then move over and set down the howitzer, release the ropes, then move over again and set down so we could leave the Chinook and start setting up. I wonder how the Chinook pilot felt about hauling a huge load of ammo and powder that could have obliterated the Chinook if a tracer round hit that powder. LOL Those things are amazing. They are like a big flying bus! We moved by Chinook to some remote hilltop many times. We might be there two weeks, one week or even two days. We would just get bunkers built and then have to destroy everything when we left. We might be at base camp a few days and then go out again.
