I will always remember watching these guys play at the coffee shop my mom worked at in California. I have been to a lot of smaller shows but Poor Mans Poison always made it feel like a sold out show at the bowl. I still have their shirt! The world is a better place with them back together.

I grew up largely in the punk rock and heavy metal scene, with some dabbling in the acoustic area of those genres. Eventually I found folk punk and got super into that. But this? I know I'm not the first person to drop a D&D story here about this song (and probably not the last) but the session we has last night was so good that I wanted to share it: So we did a one-shot as a sort of precursor to our current campaign. Two adventures were commissioned by the Head of Defense of the continent & an unknown associate to retrieve a pair of dragon-scale revolvers from an Ancient Crystal Dragon to prevent them from falling into the hand of a very dangerous family, whom we've come to call the fantasy mafia (I sat in, but did not play). The two went two toe-to-toe with the dragon, earning his respect but not killing him. The dragon granted them the revolvers, bound his soul to the two of them, as well as bounding their souls to any ancient artifact in his hoard, which would allow them to embody once they die. The two adventures emerged victorious, but it was short lived. Just as they left the cave, they were ambushed by the man who hired them, a member of the dangerous family they were warned against, Trowel Lludd. Trowel and his armada blew up the entrance of the cave, preventing the dragon from interfering. He had every intention on killing the two adventures, already severely wounded from the dragon fight, and taking the guns. The Bard, out of spell slots and no where to run, fought tooth and nail. The Barbarian Druid used an elemental ability to burrow deep underground. The Bard was killed, Trowel took the guns, and they left. The Barbarian emerged sometime later to find his dead companion. The dragon finally broke free from the cave-in, with the crystal rapier the Bard bound his soul to. Unable to leave his hoard unprotected, the dragon sent the Barbarian on a quest: Take the rapier, find a group of champions, and take revenge on Trowel Lludd. And so, the Barbarian, "the righteous hand of god", with the rapier containing his companion's soul, "the devil that he forgot", in hand, left on his quest, with this song playing in the background. Trowel would go on to build his weapon manufacturing empire thanks to these ancient weapons. And the real kicker? Trowel Lludd is my character's uncle. But that's only the tip of the iceberg with their story. I'll end it here. Maybe after the campaign goes on a bit I'll tell more of the story. But yeah this song was one hell of a way to go out on.
