In the South, where the Ukrainian army has been attacking Russian positions for the third month, minefields have become one of the biggest problems. The military calculated that there are one and a half thousand mines per square kilometer here along the front lines. The Russians mine the fields not only in front of their positions, but also remotely mine the path behind Ukrainian attack aircraft. Ukrainian troops are already undermining their armor from such mines, thinking that there are no more mines here.
Sappers in this new phase of the war are worth their weight in gold, and they are the number 1. Because they clear the paths for stormtroopers and infantry, so the roads are already for armored vehicles. Therefore, the Russians, trying to stop the Ukrainian offensive, first try to identify and neutralize the sapper. Imagine what it's like to come under mortar fire on a minefield - this is what military sappers face all the time.
