Great, I’m glad you like it. Something people usually don’t spent much time on or give much thought - but it’s the foundation of most escapes

If there’s anything else, particularity escapes - I’m happy to help. Being an old man with a broken body I have to be good at defence

Really appreciate it as a 45 yo white belt! I’ve been at it for almost 2 years now and am realizing how important escapes are as a foundation

@@nickkatsoulakis6103 if you can escape every thing how can someone beat you?? Also, it’ll give you more confidence in offence as you won’t fear ending up in a compromising position. As Sun Tzu says “ Defence first “

I would get mounted or knelt on if I tried that.

Not really. A) it’s an exercise most don’t pay attention to. B) always stay in a position of power - don’t extend your legs or open your stomach. Hide your bottom elbow. Also doesn’t matter if someone mounts you as long as you know how to escape. Don’t avoid bad positions - invite them so you can practice es aping them - then you’ll have no fear of them. Avoiding bad positions creates more fear - start under the Mount - have great defence and see how frustrated the person on top gets - once your defence is awesome too people start bailing themselves - I did a wee video of Timmy mounted on me the other day … knee ride is even more unstable for the guy on top. Sounds like you need some great escapes and more time in bad positions and better hip outs!
