The reporter is something of a mealy mouth. This isn't about prosecutions that should be allowed. It's about an argument based absolutely nothing. Almost fifty times the POTUS' , save Nixon, have managed to refrain from criminal activity while in office. But President Ford pardoned Nixon rather than let due process play out. He could have still pardoned Nixon, or commuted his sentence, as he thought appropriately, after his trial. Because he didn't Trump befriended Nixon, who along with scoff laws like Roger Stone, ( who desperate to become significant again, grasping at any possibility for power), told Trump whatever he wanted to hear. That these people had destroyed the Nixon administration went right over Trump's head. Which, since Trump claims he never swore an oath to protect and defend the Constitution and the laws therein, means he was never really the POTUS at all. Logically, if he did win re-election, he won't be able to serve as president again, because in order to take office he would have to take that oath again. How is Justice Roberts going to feel, extending a copy of The Constitution, having Trump raise his right hand and repeat the Oath after him?
