4:23 Mettaton Ex's battle sprite is made of multiple smaller sprites for the sake of puppet animation, so when Toby Fox gave them transparency as it faded in, it caused some visual artifacts where they overlapped. 1:50 Its use was actually to change the text color when writing on signs. You'd put the character, then a number that represents the color (e.g. 1 = red, 2 = yellow, etc (I wasn't using the actual color/number key, I was just making an example))

I don't remember what version, but it coincided with the early days of the Xbox 360 edition and worked on Java and 360 at the time. If you had a cobblestone generator like that and placed a redstone dust in the space where it should generate a cobblestone, it would replace the dust with an obsidian block instead.

I know that weird symbol. As a veteran of console edition, § was used on signs with another digit or character after it (I don't remember the specifics, I haven't used it in a really long time) to make the text on signs colored, and to get that weird text that cycles through a bunch of characters really fast. I remember discovering that on a random youtube video several years ago. Only ended up trying it out to see if it worked though, never really had a need for it in my builds.

You can actually get those crazy birch force in vanilla Minecraft, just add in some resource packs. Enter the server IP known as origin in realms. I don’t know all about it, but knarfy will teach you all about it.

Symbol at 1:52 is used for text effects on Bedrock. §k is for glitchy text, §o is for italic, §r is to clear text effects, §l is for bold, §4 is for a dark red text color, etc. I don't have them all memorized outside of those ones, though.
