Watching a movie based on who's in it and/or working on it is _totally_ valid. Like I was gonna make a spiel about not necessarily needing nostalgic characters to make a comic book movie successful, but that point was entirely based on James Gunn's movies. No one knew who the Guardians of the Galaxy were before he made that movie, and the first Unalive Squad movie was boring and meaningless garbage while James Gunn's *The* Unalive Squad was goofy, funny, and had some good tunes. The good tunes deserve some special mention cause ya talked about appealing to your audience, and Gunn knows full well his audience shares his taste in music so that gets some people to give the benefit of the doubt for characters they've never heard of if only for the soundtrack. Ya see a movie of D and C list characters, but slap the name of a man who has proven he knows what he's doing on it and suddenly you know this is gonna be good. And I seriously just cannot get over Peacemaker. Gunn was flexing so hard with that series. The soundtrack is a banger through and through, several characters don't even exist in the comics and I still love them, and the title character is not only someone that no one heard of but also turned into a mentally warped douchebag who became a symbol of what the protagonists were fighting against by the end of the movie he came from. So what does James Gunn do? He gives this man a whole character arc where he shows real humanity, grows as a person, deals with personal trauma, and questions literally everything he believes in, and this all comes together in such a way that every time the opening theme plays it evokes and enforces a radically different emotional response. HOW DO YOU DO THAT?! One episode this intro is making me giggle, and another it's literally making me cry. _HOW?!_
