The seven Old Testament Festivals are:
1. The Passover: This is the foundational feast
2. Unleavened Bread: This feast was to last for 7 days
3. First Fruits
4. Pentecost or Feast of Weeks
5. Feast of Shouting (Also known as Trumpets)
6. Day of Atonement
7. Feast of Tabernacles
Spring Festivals
1. Passover Feast- Leviticus 23:4-8
This feast remembers the last plague in Egypt when the angel of death “passed over” the children of Israel who applied the blood of the lamb to their doors. The Israelites took a bundle of hyssop and dipped it into the blood in the basin at the threshold. Going up, they put it up on the lintel, then touched the two sides of the frame (Exodus 12). When you look carefully at the imagery, the way the blood was placed on the doorframe formed the shape of a cross.
2. Unleavened Bread Feast - Leviticus 23:6
This seven-day feast begins on the day after Passover (Saturday, 15th of Nisan) and lasts for a week ((15th - 21st of Nisan). In the haste of the Israelites to leave Egypt, there was no time to add leaven (yeast) to their bread. During this time, remembering the hardships in Egypt and how God freed them from captivity, the Jews eat nothing leavened.
3. Feast of Fruits - Leviticus 23:10
The Feast of First Fruits took place on the day after Unleavened Bread started (Sunday, 16th of Nisan), and is a harvest feast to thank and honor God for all he provided. Although they didn’t know it at the time, the children of Israel were celebrating what would become a very important day.
4. Feast of Weeks or Pentecost - Leviticus 23:16
This feast takes place on the 7th day of the 3rd month, Sivan. This feast is the second of the three harvest feasts. It occurs exactly seven weeks after the Feast of First Fruits, so it’s also called Pentecost, which means “50 days.” Traditionally, people were expected to bring the first harvest of grain to the Lord, including two leavened loaves of bread.
Fall Festivals
Similar to the first three spring feasts, the fall feasts take place one right after another. The Feast of Trumpets starts on the 1st day of the 7th month, Tishri, the Day of Atonement on the 10th day of Tishri, and the Feast of Tabernacles (or Booths) on the 15th - 22nd of Tishri.
5. Festival of Shouting (Trumpets) - Leviticus 23:24
This feast began on the 1st day of the 7th month, Tishri. In a beautiful declaration, God commands his people to rest. During this time, all regular work is prohibited, and men and women present a food offering to God. This feast lasts 10 days and begins with trumpet blasts to signal the time to prepare for the Day of Atonement Feast. Traditionally, it's also referred to as the "Ten Days of Awe." It's a time to afflict your soul and engage in serious soul searching. It's a time to repent and get right with God.
6. Day of Atonement - Leviticus 16, 23:26-32; Num. 29
This day was actually not a feast but a day of fasting. It began on the 10th day of the 7th month, Tishri. To make “atonement” is to make restitution for wrongs committed. As a day of humility and repentance to God, it was a time for the Jews to get their hearts, consciences, and lives right before him. The observance involved the sacrifice of animals as the High Priest entered the Holy of Holies. What the High Priest did there couldn’t offer more than an annual payment for their sins. However, hiding in plain sight was the promise of one who could atone for their sins permanently (Hebrews 9:12).
7. Feast of Tabernacles or Booths - Leviticus 23:34
This feast takes place on the 15th - 22nd days of the 7th month, Tishri. Celebration always follows the Day of Atonement. The Feast of Tabernacles celebrates God’s provision and protection for the people of Israel during their 40 years of wandering in the wilderness. During the seven days of the feast, people live in temporary structures as they did in the wilderness. The Lord himself was with the Israelites in the desert, in a tented temple called the Tabernacle, so the feast also celebrates his presence as he tabernacles (dwells) with us.

Passover is a special day (Sabat) and it can fall on any day of the week. That year, it fell on Thursday (or eendneday, after 18:00 o'clock). He was not buried on Friday, but on Thursday, minutes before Friday. The scriptures say "preparation day", not Friday. Every day before a Sabbath is a “preparation day.” From Thursday we had 3 high Sabbaths in a row (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) that year. That's why he was resurrected on the 3rd (sleeping) day after 3 nights and 3 days of being "dead". Put it on paper and you will understand. Good studies. YEHOWAH be with you.

Well done Pastor Todd, I am 100% a Believer in Yeshua/Jesus, I also choose to celebrate the Holy Days of our Jewish family because they were of God's plan and liking versus celebrating the Man made Babylonian Ishtar (easter) Pagan winter Solstice (Christmas) and Sain wein (Halloween) , not to try to be smarter or better than anyone but we are commanded in the Bible not to do as the Heathen/Pagans do, and say we do it in the name of the Lord. Pastor Todd told us & made it quite clear that we did not need to celebrate these Jewish festival days as Christians. I do not celebrate pagan festivals when I celebrate the birth of Christ in Bethlehem at Christmas or the death & resurrection of Jesus Christ at Easter & I obviously never celebrate Halloween which is of the Devil.
@justinhorn2395

@@leialee6820 Listen again, he also said it's ok to still celebrate these, not necessary for salvation, reread what I said as well, Christmas is Pagan, I never said I don't celebrate the birth of Yeshua, or the resurrection, Adorning Trees is directly a pagan practice, just like the Cap Santa wears and setting children in his lap and asking for gifts are carrying on with a form of Molech worship, Celebrating Sameramis and Tammuz with egg laying rabbit and dying eggs are old forms Babylonian sun God worship. I just choose to not do those things, GOd bless you and your family.

@@justinhorn2395 You are doing it again suggesting that any Christian who celebrates Christmas or Easter are celebrating pagan gods. You are totally black & white on this issue. @@leialee6820 No Judgement, do as you want, I just choose not to continue those practices because we are explicitly told in the Bible to not to, phallic worship and Adorning with orbs was happening in ancient times too except the Israelites were saying they weren't doing it for Pagan purposes but as a custom and in the name of Yahovah, God didn't like that and said not to, so i don't do those things no more than I would lay on prayer rug praying in a specific direction, or erecting an Obelisk or Worshipping necklaces and Statues, not a condemnation of anyone just a personal choice of mine.

Christ became our Passover Lamb on the highest Holy day of Christianity,, the High Sabbath. (Preparation Day) He became the ultimate sacrifice for all mankind. And fulfilled the position of the Passover Lamb, beginning the new covenant. ❤ That Salvation is open to whomsoever will. This is also why the veil in the Holy of Holies was rent from top to bottom.. Christ is our mediator, we don't need a preist or anyone else in the Church to mediate between God and ourselves, we can go straight in with faith and prayer, talk to Him as He's right there in Spirit, (His Holy Spirit , AKA our Comforter) ❤

Brother, I am in agreement with what you present concerning the feast days and it’s fulfillment to Christ and the Church, except for Christ dying on a Friday. I do not wish to be contentious but sincerely am trying to resolve the dilemma of prophecy in Matthew 12:40 where it says Jesus was in the bowels of the earth 3 days and 3 nights before his resurrection. How could Jesus accomplish this if he died on Friday? The Catholic Church changed the calendar system through Pope Gregory and the Gregorian Calendar which we still use to this day. The Catholic Church says he died on Friday and rose early Sunday morning by dawn, but this goes against the prophecy of Matthew 12:40. Therefore, I think further study needs to be done concerning the Jewish Calendar at the time of Christ prior to the change to the Gregorian Calendar. Jesus Christ most certainly fulfilled ALL prophecy concerning the Messiah, but our timing of it seems to be deficient.

Great video. It seems that the feast of trumpets is out of place, when it’s understood as one singular event. If the feast of trumpets is indeed the “rapture” of believers in one single event, what is the purpose of the feast of atonement, and the feast of tabernacles? And a side note, isn’t it beautiful that during the feast of tabernacles as they made their way into the temple to pour the water into the funnel at the alter where the water from the pool of Siloam would run under the alter towards the East…. ”In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)“ ‭‭John‬ ‭7‬:‭37‬-‭39‬ ‭KJV

@@fs3579 The main reason why the Israelites went to Egypt in the first place was because there was a great famine. This famine caused a severe shortage of food and resources in the land of Canaan where the Israelites lived, so they headed down to Egypt to escape the famine. The first passages of Exodus explains that after Jacob and his sons came to Egypt, the Israelite population quickly multiplied. After Jacob, Joseph, and the rest of Jacob’s sons die, a new Pharaoh who did not know Joseph rose to power in Egypt. This Pharaoh worried that the Israelites were too numerous and would ally with Egypt’s enemies against him, so he decided to enslave the Israelites to keep them from rising in number.

To "add or take away" from ANYTHING the Lord didn't specifically command to do is idolatry, false doctrine, commandments of men" etc. This is how u end up in a state of apostasy (i.e. just like the catholics and ALL of Christianity "commemorating" birthdays, haloween, christmas( tammuz birthday) easter (sammuramis the whore of babylon) etc. Worshiping relics and saints etc. Stick to the gospel and the doctrine of Christ (faith repentance baptism by water and fire, endure in Christ until you come back into his presence (redeemed from the fall) The Book of Mormon teaches the doctrine of Christ and how to come back into His presence)

Appreciate your teachings a lot. Thank you. However, please consider: the Passover could not be on a Friday as Jesus died and was buried and he rose again on the third day. The 3rd day is Sunday as we know. Matthew 12:40 (King James Version) 40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. If you count 3 days and 3 nights, the day Jesus was crucified and died (on Passover) could not be on a Friday. Best regards.

This is a very informative video, but there are a few mistakes: 6:00 Actually, Passover, and all the other Feasts except Pentecost, float throughout the week, depending on the starting date of the year. Yes, the Passover when Jesus was crucified was on a Friday, but it can be on a Sunday, Wednesday, whatever day. 7:15 Actually, the Bible doesn't say that the males are to gather together for Passover. This is what it says: Deuteronomy 16:16 Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the LORD empty: 22:40 Actually, they were only required to come to 3 feasts in a year, not all 7. 23:15 The video says "God commands his people to rest during this time", but this is true of all 7 feasts, not just Trumpets. Also, the video says this Trumpet feast lasts 10 days, but there is nothing supporting that in the Bible. It is just a one-day feast. 24:27 The video says "The Day of Atonement is a day of fasting". That is possibly true, but the Bible doesn't explicity say that. It just says to "afflict your soul". 25:30 Actually, the feast of Trumpets is not about going to heaven. It is a warniing trumpet to prepare for something. This should be obvious, because the saints must go through the Day of Atonement and then Tabernacles in order for the fall feasts to be fulfilled in the end time. The saints will rise to glory at the Last Trumpet. 27:15 The video shows a profound lack of understanding of the Day of Atonement. Actually, Jesus is in the heavenly sanctuary now, pleading his blood on our behalf, going over the records of all those who have claimed him as their Saviour to see if they truly follow him or not. 28:40 Actually, there is nothing in the Bible that says Christians don't have to keep the feasts of the Lord. 29:23 The video says "You don't have to do them to be right with God." Are you sure about that? What other parts of the Bible can we ignore and still be "right with God"? 33:33 The video says "When you don't understand the Old Testament, then your understanding of the New Testament plummets." Amen and amen! The Old Testament is all that Jesus and the early disciples had. The OT speaks of Jesus. 35:24 The video says "To the degree that we neglect the Old Testament, we will be blind to the New Testament." Amen again! So while this was a good, introductory video to the Feasts of the Lord for those who have never studied them before, there were a number of things in it that could be improved to make it conform better to the words in the Holy Bible. Jesus kept the Feasts of the Lord, so if he is our perfect example, shouldn't we do the same? God bless you, and may you come to a closer understanding of truth.

To keep the feast of the old covenant is to return to the shadows, denying the Atonement that Jesus Christ made with his own blood. And he [the Messiah] shall confirm the covenant with many for ONE WEEK: and IN THE MIDST OF THE WEEK (the seventieth) he [Christ] SHALL CAUSE THE SACRIFICE AND THE OBLATION TO CEASE, and for the overspreading of abominations (the continued temple sacrifices, after Christ one perfect sacrifice.) he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. ("Behold your house has been left unto you desolate.") {Daniel 9:27} Daniel 9:27....is speaking of the new covenant that Jesus Christ our promised Messiah confirms with many, for three and a half years of the seventieth week, (not as the unlearned, who give this covenant to the antichrist) from his anointing~baptism at the age of thirty, to his sacrifice and death, and resurrection when he was thirty three years of age, for the remission of sins. By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament. [G1242] {Hebrews 7:22} But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, [G1242] which was established upon better promises. {Hebrews 8:6} For this is the covenant [G1242] that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; *I will put my laws* into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: {Hebrews 8:10} For where a testament [G1242] is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament [G1242] is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. {Hebrews 9:16-17} For this is my blood of the new testament, [G1242] which is shed for many for the remission of sins. {Matthew 26:28} And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, [G1242] which is shed for many. {Mark 14:24} Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament [G1242] in my blood, which is shed for you. {Luke 22:20}

@@larrybedouin2921larry, that is wonderful that you quote Daniel 9:27. I do that all the time in showing that we are required to continue keeping the Feasts of the Lord today. Jesus told us that no lawbreaker shall inherit the kingdom so we'd better be 100% sure what law He meant and which laws He did not mean. Do not listen to any pastor or denomination that tries to sell you lawbreaking; sunday 'sabbath' (NOT the 7th day) and the trinity; these expose most churches as false shepherds.

1. Christ prophesied of Himself that he would be three days and three nights in the belly of the earth. How does one get three days and three nights between Friday afternoon and before sunrise on Sunday morning.? Christ was specific: 3 days and three nights. Those were his words. If Christ was specific in his prophecy of himself, should we not be specific when we understand what He said? If He was wrong, Was He not a false prophet? I do not believe He was wrong. 2. we are told that Palm Sunday was when Christ entered Jerusalem. I believe this is correct. If it was Saturday, He would have broken the Sabbath by traveling more than a Sabbath day's journey. He would not have done that. So it was on the first day of the week. OT tells us this was on the tenth day of the first month. If the tenth was on Sunday, then the Passover was on the 14th or Thursday. This is when He was crucified. 3. We can get both 3 days and 3 nights from Thursday afternoon until Sunday before sunrise. It is my strong belief that Christ was crucified on Thursday afternoon the day of Passover. This was followed by the first day of unleavened bread which would be a Sabbath day as every Gospel writer records. Further John records it as a High day, a high day being a High Sabbath day. This in turn would be followed by the regular Saturday sabbath day. And PLEASE do not teach that Christ rose from the grave on Easter. This is counter to every Gospel. account. Easter is not mentioned in the Bible except in KJV Acts and is not related to the resurrection.

You are incorrect on the days sir.... What we do know is that it occurred on Passover as a model of the sacrifice of the perfect Lamb, and that He rose again on the Feast of First Fruits, since He is the First Fruit of the resurrection This is what causes much confusion over the crucifixion, and how Friday to Sunday just dosent add up to the 3 days from the time Jesus was crucified to the time He ressurected. It's because He was put on the cross on WEDNESDAY, He rose sometime on Saturday night. That particular Sabbath was a HIGH SABBATH, which means there were two sabbaths that week of Jesus' crucifixion. What is the high Sabbath? There were two high sabbath days associated with the feast of unleavened bread which began on Nisan 15 every year. God commanded it to Israel in Leviticus 23. John 19:31 ESV - 31 Since it was the day of Preparation, and so that the bodies would not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken and that they might be taken away. JOHN 19:31 “for the Sabbath was a High day To understand the significance and the timing one has to go back into the Old Testament as the New Testament is fulfilment of the Old. In Genesis 1:5 God called “the light day, and the darkness He called night. And the evening and the morning were the first day” In Bible times therefore one day was from sundown (Night) to the following sundown; not as it is today midnight to midnight. Leviticus 23:5, “in the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the Lord’s Passover”. All feast days or “holy convocations” are High day or Sabbath Days. During this feast day there is a day of preparation when the spotless lamb (Representative of Yeshua) must be killed (the day before the Feast Day) for the Passover meal. Mathew 12:40 Yeshua said “ For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the Whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth” The Roman custom was to allow bodies to remain on the cross but according to Jewish Law (Deut 21:22-23) the body of one that was hanged on a tree was not to remain all night, but to be taken down that day and buried; though this was not always observed (2 Samuel 21:9-10). Yeshua is the Passover lamb, the spotless lamb for that feast day and had to be crucified on the day of preparation (Leviticus 23:5), the day before the Sabbath Passover. This particular preparation day was also the first day of Pesach a Sabbath day (a High Day Sabbath) but not the seventh day Sabbath even though the Passover Sabbath sometimes fall on the seventh day Sabbath. It had to coincide with Yeshua’s word in Mathew 12:40 so that he would be in the bowels of the earth three days and three nights prior to His resurrection. The day of Passover in Bible times would see millions of Jews in Jerusalem on pilgrimage and it would be an important celebration, one of crossing the Red Sea, one of deliverance. (fulfillment of Mathew 12:40) "High Sabbaths" in the Bible did not necessarily fall on the seventh day of the Jewish week (as regular Sabbaths did), but corresponded to special days of observance (translated in English as "appointed feasts" or "holy convocations") in the Jewish calendar that had been commanded by God in the Law given to Israel through Moses, on which the people were required to assemble in worship. As with regular Sabbaths, the high Sabbaths were to be days of rest from work. There were seven such days in the Jewish calendar, as follows: the first and seventh days of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, beginning the day after the observance of Passover (Leviticus 23:4-8) (The first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread was the high Sabbath to which the verse cited in the question was referring.); Pentecost (Shavuot)(Leviticus 23:15-21); the Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah)(Leviticus 23:23-25); the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur)(Leviticus 23:26-32); the first and eighth days of the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkoth)(Leviticus 23:33-36). In addition to not necessarily falling on the same day as the weekly Jewish Sabbath, these high Sabbaths (although they fall on the same date of the Jewish lunar calendar every year) fall on varying dates of the Gregorian solar calendar from one year to the next, just as the Christian observance of days such as Palm Sunday, Good Friday, and Easter does.

@HolyLandSite
@HolyLandSite 5 місяців тому
The Jewish interpretation of days included two components different from modern times. This included the day beginning in the evening (as in Genesis 1, evening and morning). Also, part of a day was counted as a full day. In this perspective, a Friday crucifixion was the first day. Jesus was buried on Friday afternoon before sunset (day 1). He remained in the tomb Friday night through Saturday afternoon (evening/day 2). Jesus continued in the tomb Saturday evening and rose on Sunday morning (evening/day 3), which was the third day. Mark 15:42 seems to affirm this traditional view, claiming Jesus was crucified the day before the Sabbath. Jesus also taught He would rise on the third day (Matthew 16:21; Luke 9:22). Here's another way of looking at this. It's helpful to think more like the authors of the New Testament. They didn’t divide days at midnight like we do, but at sundown. And in the first-century Jewish mind, part of a day counted as a whole day. So, because Jesus was buried on Friday evening and rose on Sunday morning, He was in the tomb “three days and three nights” by Jewish reckoning. Hopefully this helps.
