New York is the epitome of a cosmopolitan city. One of the world's biggest, it saw immigrants arrive from all over the world, chasing freedom, their fortune and the American dream. New York continues to attract and fascinate. The city created a new model of urban planning with towers and blocks of buildings, constant traffic, stores and adverts. All these innovations that made the city attractive also contributed to the increase in its inhabitants' consumption of energy and material goods.

i sometimes wander do new yorkers realise just how famous there city is, i have visited twice, i am hooked, loved new york people, they got great spirit, so sorry chicago, london, dubai, tokyo an all the others that claim they are number one, there is nothing that comes close to nyc, i was in a shopping mall here in ireland recently, they were selling pics of manhattan skyline by night, thousands of miles from manhattan and they are selling pictures of it, amazing,

New York appreciates many people, cultures, etc. We are not missing heart or the want and need for eco friendly life. Many people take for granted the style we have acquired which in most ways ruin us. Our own state has its own issues with who we are and ravishes what should be equal share of life giving information and food. We are like anywhere else is and can be.

I don't know if you know but NYC is getting super tall. They are bulding up 50 brand new buildings and some of em' are getting finished this year and 10 of those buildings are gonna be over 1000 feet.

The two greenest things about NYC, density and the subway system, are left-overs from the days when we didn't give a shit about the environment. There used to be more open space, trees, horses, bikes, and more subway lines back when we were burning coal in the city and partying like it was 1899.

E quello che pensavo anch'io prima di andarci... Non ti puoi immaginare com'è veramente fino a che non metti piede sulle strade di manhattan.. Secondo me è una città MERAVIGLIOSA. Ovviamente non è un paradiso naturale... Ma quel "cemento" è unico nel suo genere... Mi ha affascinato a tal punto che ci ritornerò!! Ne vale la pena.. ***GOD BLESS AMERICA***

NY is great, clean and has it all. Rents should be the double! Why? Because if you cant turn of the airconditioning when needed, in one of the best hotels downtown, someone has to pay for the overconsumtion.

It is, I love New York! Humans will always pollute and consume energy, but we must, government included, lessen the effects and try to consume as little as possible. The green culture can be seen everywhere in the city, at NYU (where I study), and at the parks. The problem is that you can't, as an individual, influence or alter the way people behave because you don't have the authority. The government, to some extent, can influence and help spread environmental awareness.

yes it's full of people and taxis, like all the cities. Somehow, i like this way of living, also i would like to go to Vancouver, where everything is green right?xD... the fact you liked it or not... i think it depends on your personality. My experience in NY was great, and the people i met was really friendly.. when i got lost people did their best to help me... Anyways i don't live there(but i would like to), and i also stayed there for a short time. I'm in love with this city..... xD

Your mind is locked, think by yourself out of the box on how you could help, and hit yourself on your back when you did a good deed in that direction, because no one will. Solution is in a small and big scale. Do what you can.

Lamentavelmente nenhuma das principais estações portuguesas assumiu esta causa como global, ou como algo que nos diga respeito, remetendo a transmissão do documentário que pelos vistos foi gratuito, para a RTP2. Pelo que pude perceber, na Press Conference dada pelo realizador , o objectivo seria ceder gratuitamente o documento a todas as estações televisivas, de modo a que fosse visionado no mesmo dia, em todos os países mas, não tinha futebol...

I just came back from New York a few hours ago. This was my first visit. It has to be one of the dirtiest cities I've ever visited. People are extemely rude and they drive like they're on suicide missions. Too many people and almost no parks. The houses are not much better than slums. If you live in Canada, especially from Vancouver, you'll be highly disappointed if you're going to New York. The only reason I went there is to pay my tribute to MJ at the Apollo.
