All too accurate for the rest of Australia sadly (other than the LNP still being in power offically, as opposed to the ALP continuing to be as close as possible to what the LNP want to do anyway). We all need and deserve far better than the (ever so fractionally) lesser of two evils, but the ALP/LNP duopoly are absolutely determined to drag that out as long and hard as they can. And given that between the two of them they pretty much write and re-write all the rules, well.... My condolences mate.

We do a similar thing in booking a doctor/GP consultation. Government targets mean that doctor's offices micro manage the appointment book by manipulating if/when the patient's phonecall to make a booking is even answered. National targets are that patients see a doctor within a day of making the appointment - and that is true, but actually making the appointment can take days

They killed my local river with Salmon Farms and Logging to the rivers edge. The once famous Tyenna is now almost dead, the Derwent is now rated the most dead major river in Aus, etc. "The Silent Spring" is already upon us here in Tas, don't even mention the health system, it is as far gone as our once magical rivers... This ad is spot on and i thank you for the exposure we so desperately need!

And average people buy into that shit, because they were made to belive such farms are sustainable and good for the environment. People see eco-labels and that's enough to greenwash. Just because the fish are farmed, people believe that this is stopping open sea mass fishing. In reality, those farmed fish have to be fed, and they are fed with tons and tons of bycatch. And so many fish produce a lot of shit, kept in one place that's no good.

I'm Tasmanian and this is pretty damn accurate. While I like the idea of the stadium here, there's just wayyyy too many homelessness and not enough funding for schools and healthcare that I just can't support our government blowing almost 1 billion on a stadium alone. Sadly simply getting rid of Liberal isn't enough for Tasmania to not be fucked and bringing in the Greens to govern is going to make my household hell and I'll never hear the end of it, but god for the sake of our amazing nature, we need a premier who won't sell out the remaining quarter of our island (where nature is thriving) to companies to fuck over.

@@zimrielfun fact: a majority of our homeless have been pushed onto the streets as house prices are so high that a house is unattainable to many people, this combined with the lack of speed on building homes to accommodate for all the people driven to homelessness by the politicians who act like you. maybe get a morals check, empathy check, whatever, just get some humanity because people like you are why tasmania is a shithole right now.

As a Tasmanian some of this I knew some I did not thanks for informing us. As for the health system you are not even scratching the surface. I've had friends that have had serious injuries, broken bones etc and rather than wait in emergency at the hospital they make a doctors appt for a day or two later knowing full well they'd have to wait for 10 or more hours to get into the hospital.

We just have to pay thousands of dollars for that here in the US! My dad had a double bypass (open heart surgery) and when he got the statement from his insurance company, the hospital billed the insurance company for about half a million dollars. My dad only had to pay like a grand though.

It's because the hospital is clogged with oldies waiting for spots in nursing homes. Many "patients" have been there over 100 days taking up beds. It's more like a hotel right now.

We lived in NSW for a couple of years in the late 80's (was there for the bicentennial) and fell in love with the country. Spent six weeks touring around all the states before we left, only one we missed was Tasmania. We always wanted to go back, we cried when we left.... after watching Juice Media's videos for the past couple of years that desire to go back has really faded and that makes me so sad. Hopefully NZ stays OK (we honeymooned there for a couple of weeks.),

But, in the end, the entrenched powers hold sway over media and advertising; and nothing can change even in the most ideal of circumstances.

I left Hobart 2 years ago because I was extremely sick and had not received care for 4 years, I moved to Brisbane and within the first 2 months of being here had been put through for procedures. Don't live in Tassie if you have chronic stomach health issues.

My mother waited 30 years living in Tasmania for a hernia repair operation and the only reason she ended up getting it was because it became life-threatening. So that is all party fault not just the ones in power now messing with the healthcare system. It has not gotten any better under any politician party in over 30 years
